HiID's stolen, a couple of Q's
 

My HIDs got robbed last nite out of my '03 GLE. I would like to put the AE 01 lites in but a bodyshop guy told me in order to do it right I have to go with the 01 bumper as well.

Is this true? And if not does anyone have a body guy in Northern Jersey that knows how to do the job right?

If I must go with an 91 bumper, what are the pros and cons of doing that?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

i have heard time and time again that the dealerships say one thing and them someone from the org will go and install the headlights. Look for a how to some where. Many people have installed the 02 headlights on 01's i dont see why it cant be reversed

You DO NOT have to install a different bumper to put AE headlights on an 02 or 03 Max... however, you DO have to rewire a little bit for the headlights...

He's right, just call this bodyhop, they did mine, they do great work in matching paint and all else you need, it's called Motor City. I have seen them on ast Fords magazine for a sick paintjob they did on a Mustang a while back.

They are located in Newark, they have done many 2k2 to 2k1 headlight conversions so it's not a new territory for them, I wa one of the first ones and it came out beautiful. I will have pics soon.

I live in houston and havenot really heard of anybody getting theres stolen down here. i dont understand why it is such a big problem up there. do they want the ballasts or the headlamp or what?

Ballasts and bulbs bro.
