For 2k2+ owners who has lowered their Maxima's
Did you have to re-aim your headlights? If so, how did you do it?
Judging from photo's here on the .Org, i can only imagine how much less the light output throws itself in front of the car. Given that i drive a lot of dark side roads (e.g. no street lights), having them not put out light as far as it does is just dangerous for me. Thanks. - Mike |
There's a white plastic nut on the back of the headlight housing. Get a 8mm socket and a tiny rachet. Find a nice light colored wall on a flat surface, give yourself about 6-8ft between the front of the car and the wall. :)

Cool. Sounds simple enough. Thanks :)

NP.
I've got a tiny scoket set. It's got a small ratchet and extensions. I kept it in the console for a while to do fine adjustments as needed till I got what I liked. If you have one I'd do the same. GL |
do you have to re aim them when you drop your ride. im dropping mine this weekend and this would be good to know
|
Nissan sells you the car with them already pointed down a good bit. (Less glare for other drivers) So after dropping it will only be worse. This is very easy to do though.

I'll play around with my lighting later tonight, t'was a good idea to keep the tools handy in the glovebox btw :)

When i dropped it, i noticed i could see more of the road much better near me, but it wasnt' shining the road like it used to. I aimed them up a bit and now it's perfect! :)

Just what i wanted to hear, the roads i drive through now is pretty dark that i tend to use the highbeams a lot more often.
But then i figured, if i can re-aim my headlights just a bit higher i'm going to be better off. Dropping the car would just make things worse for me if i don't readjust the lights accordingly. |
I've been needing to do this for awhile now...it wasn't really noticeable with the Maxspeed drop, but now on Tein's it's very pronounced. I've got a writeup I found somewhere if you need it :)
|
Interesting...I never really thought about reaiming the lights after the drop. The HID's do so much better than regular bulbs, I could still see plenty. Guess I will have to try my hand at adjusting them too :)
|
Just make sure to do it correctly. Bad HID aiming is not nice at all :(
