Stock 17's or aftermarket 18's?
Thoughts? I am ready to go after some new rims. Anyone have 18's and if so, is the ride improved upon, same or worse? Should I stick to 17's?

thats should not even be a question dude...

No rubbing with the 18's? I gotta say the 17's are sweet but with the low wheel well clearance, will 18's hurt? I am all about the rubber but the ride is already pretty rough w/ the SE suspension. Better on 18's or the same? Any rubbing with the 18's or the same?

get the 18's........

I take that to say no rubbing, no performance drawbacks? I am ready bro! Just a couple hundred more bux and there on!

Your'e not helping me by saying I will have a 2003 Maxiam SE sport utility if I load it with 18's an no suspension work. I have no idea what that would look like but it doesn't sound pleasing. 18's and no drop, looks like sh*t, 18's w/ a drop, more money and probably some rubbing. Help me out here!

There are ppl running 19's and IIRC a person on 20's also w/o rubbing problems on lowered Maxima's. Get the 18s & some Teins!

IMHO here in Chicago, I would'nt go larger than 17's, as bent wheels and blown tires are no fun. In Texas it should not be so bad going to 18's, it will ride a little rougher. Another thing about 18's is they weigh more.

The stock wheels weigh 25 lbs ea. So it would be good to ditch those. Got $825 for mine on ebay. Then I bought Centerline Forged RPM's in chrome, but stayed with 17's. This is a 14lb wheel the 18's weighed about 18lbs and would have been about $200 more for the set.
A cheaper lightweight wheel are some of the Rota's (Slipstream, Subzero, circuit 8 or 10) It is all a matter of personal taste, but lighter is better, less rotational and unsprung weight. |
