Best Car Alarm for 5th Gen Maxima

Can't seem to get the poll working so you can add your own options, so just reply with what alarms you think are good and easy to install (yourself) and work well with a 5th Gen Maxima....

A lot of people have the Viper 791XV Responder Alarm. Everyone has only good things to say about it. I don't know about putting it one yourself, but it the alarm I'm about to get. I just bought it from

:sprint: on the Viper 791XV. I don't know how easy it is to install, but if you're a novice, I'd recommend you have a professional install it for you.

Howmuch does it cost to get it installed??

Most of them come with instructions and with the information on installdr.com and the12volt.com, I'm sure I could figure it out. I'm pretty good with car audio, and I doubt 12v alarms could be much different..

I'm guessing $100+ to install it, plus you never know how good of a job they do - they might not hide wires and the siren well..

I have the viper 791 with window roll downs and a proxy sensor.

I love it :)

My brother just did his own install on his new WRX STi. It is not easy. He spent over 20 hours setting it up and now he's still having some issues. I recommend finding someone with some experience doing Maxima's. It is not like a radio which is very cookie cutter. Alarms require specific customizations on a per model basis.

yeah, search for a good reputable shop- ask around

I remember back in the day paying like $400 bucks for a Viper alarm on my MX6 and half the sensors
weren't working- When you pay top dollar for the best alarm you should have every feature on that alarm working on your car

I'm actually not crazy about the viper 791 which i have on my car. The one remote you get is huuuge, its like carrying a mini tv around, my friends always make fun of it. The remote also loves battery juice, expect to go through one AAA a month.

Also I would have to whip a brick at my car just for my alarm to even go off, but i think this can be ajusted.

I think there is better out there for the money

Viper is the best. You can adjust your shock sensor.

Most shock sensors are adjusable. Even the cheapo ones. Is there a difference?

Just get a regular decent alarm and hook a AIR HORN up too it. The alarm and the air horn goes off and sounds NUTZZZZZZ add a club to just to stall people . But who is gonna deal with all that noise and still have to fight the club :king:
