I just had my Powerslots installed last weekend. I have Hawk HPS on the fronts and Raybestos on the rears. I remember seeing the Powerslot instruction/guidance form that came with the rotors. It said that there will be a slight/mild grinding noise which is acceptable. When I got my car back form the install, I drove it about 100 miles breaking them in. They still make a slight noise, but nothing that sounds awkward.

what kind of a slight noise, when braking hard or slow speeds?

i think i heard before that the Hawk pads are not good for consistent hard braking and if they are used a lot, they start to screech and make noises...but i am not sure

It's from the Hawk pads. I have Hawks on stock rotors, and mine do that also.

My brakes make a slight noise when I tap them lightly, but no noise at all when I apply normal stopping pressure. I think the noise, in my case, is attributable to the slotted rotors.

I had an awful noise last week, but it turned out to be my hub bearings. Luckily that is under the 60k warranty and NNA fixed it for free.

I have drilled and slotted rotors and its a "hum" noise that you'll here under hard braking, especially going down hill. Which way are your slosts facing? If standing in fron of your wheel, are the slots swept back or are they pointing to the front of the car? They should be pointing to the front , that is where you'll get the best cooling and its also the way they were designed to work. The noise is common though. Hope this helps

HAWK is good. The material used to make HAWK pads can produce noise, but it should reduce once the pads have heated up. Also, braking ability increases when they heat up.

You mean you can choose which way the slots point?? I thought this was not possible considering the rotors are labeled L & R.

The noises I mentioned earlier are not anything I would consider loud, awkward, obnxious, or concerning. To me , it sounds like a "sssssss" and I can only hear it when I turn off the heater & radio and listen for it.
