Important questions about seats (all gen)

Hey guys, I posted some stuff about this before.. My mom got a 2k3 recently, and she feels that her cloth seats are very uncomfortable. She has bad hips and is very sensitive to stuff. One of her main complaints is that the seatbelt clip (where it plugs in) digs into her hip when the seatbelt is fastened. She also feels like the seat is slightly angled to the right. She also has had complaints about the bolsters and the placement of the lumbar support (she's 5' 4")..

Compared to my 4th gen, I personally think the seats are a bit stiff in the 2k3, but otherwise decent.. She however, keeps stealing my 4th gen because she feels the seats are more comfortable.

Would the 4th gen seats fit in a 2k3? How about wiring up the motors and stuff? Airbags (do all 2k2/3 have airbags in seats?).

What about the regular 2k/2k1 seats? Do they have any LESS bolster? I read that most people seem to prefer the 5.5gen seats over the old 5th gen seats, but most people are looking for better lateral support, which may not be the best for bad hips. At this point, she is talking about taking the seat to an upholsterer to take out the bolster, or else sell the car :(

Help? This is so frustrating!

oF COURSE you can put 5th gen seats in a 4th gen. You can put Honda seats if you wanted to.

IMO: Give her the 4th gen and take the more powerful 5th gen.
She sits too close to the seatbelt clip. That's why it stab's her.
PLUS you can adjust the seat in so many ways, I dunno why it you would be uncomfortable.

The question was, will a 4th gen seat fit in a 5th gen? Not the other way around, although, temporarily it would be nice to just swap them so she'd stop driving my car.

And regarding your comment about swapping cars, respectfully, I have put a lot of time and money into my car to make it what it is. The 2k3 is not much faster, and certainly doens't handle nearly as well. Her 2k3 is also almost completely stripped of options except for HID's, whereas my 97 is fully loaded.

We would have been better off getting a used Lexus or something with boat like seats in the first place, but she can't tollerate the smell of leather for any extended period of time.

Also, are the 2k/2k1 seats less bolstered? Would they bolt right up?

I'm not sure, but I think it will fit.

from the knowledge the front seats will fit right into it or you might have to do some work which wouldnt be to hard, the back seats will not fit in the car because 5th gens are 60/40 and 4th gens are not

I took some measurements, and it looks close from side to side.. Both cars appear to have mounting brackets in more or less the same spots. The back bolts appear to be 18.5-19" apart and the front bolts appear to be about 17" apart. When it stops raining, I guess I'll just give it a shot and see what happens.

I'm not concerned with the rear seats. Anyone have any idea what color 4th gen cloth would most closely match a frost cloth interior on my mom's 5.5gen in case this works?
