car feels slugish and slow at low speed and RPM's
Lately I have been seeing some slow response to my car. I don't know how to best discribe it but it's when I get on it it feels slow and slugish? Any ideas?

could be your MAF

my car does the same thing. its cold here in albuquerque to so maybe its the cold weather.

I've started noticing the same thing here in canada where the temperatures have dropped to
-44 C = -22 Farenheit..and the car just doesnt want to pull...if the RPMs are 1500-200..and you step on the gas, the car just grunts and slowwwwllly picks up..once RPM's hit 4000 then it flys....it starting to run very rough too..I'm sure its the cold |

I've got two ideas...if you're running your heater, I've noticed my car does not perform as well if either the heater or ac are running. Second, no one can truly tell you what effect your intake is having on your car...you've got an injen right? And I have no idea how long you've had it there. When I put my Berk on, I noticed that the throttle response felt like I was mashing my foot into peanut butter...I felt that much torque loss, but everything was louder, and the higher rpms whirred by a little quicker. For the last couple weeks, I put my stock intake back on because my MAF went bad, and the service guy at the dealer cut me a break when he saw my intake and told me he would do the work under warranty if I brought my car back in stock form. Since the new MAF is on, with stock intake, y-pipe and b-pipe, my car feels absolutely wicked fast, and very zippy in the low rpms. I may just not put the intake back on. I spoke to the technician at Nissan who said these MAF's sometimes just go bad, but we certainly aren't helping any with these filters which do not filter as well as the stock part, oils and stuff getting through can damage the sensor. If you've got your stock airbox and a warm garage, I'd consider putting it back on and see if there is a difference = cheap approach and 15 minutes of your time. Good luck. |
if you have climate control, you have to press the ECON button for straight heat. if you dont the CC will still mix in some cool air and use the a/c motor.
so i still think its the cold weather. |
well i had a bad MAF and my SES light never came on
has it been raining at all...becuase when it rains alot my car acts weird |

may seem like an obvious suggestion...how many miles are on your car and have you cleaned your throttle body recently? i've had the same symptoms on my car (20K miles about) and cleaning the throttle body and fuel injectors cleared it right up |
Well, i put injector cleaners every once a month...but how do i clean the throttle body? I have roughly 30K miles on my car ( 2001 SE)
|
I'm going to venture and say the coils aren't firing up the way they are suppost to in cold weather.
|
hey, my car in the cold is like a bullet.
Around 0 degrees here in Boston, and the car just feels soo much faster with the Berk intake now. I put the BG 44K fuel cleaner plus a throtle body cleaning spray from pep boys not too long ago. Car feels wicked fast....its the summer that its really slugish and slow |
