2k2 & 2k3 owners.. how's your HID's in the rain?

i was wondering how the stock HID's are in the rain at night.
with my hyper white headlight bulbs.. it just sucks.
if i can get my hands on a set for under $200, i'll definetely get a set but just wanted to know how they are.

My stock 4100k HIDs are great in the rain. I never had a problem with glare or anything. Now with my current 8000k bulbs I cant see the road as well. Thats the price you pay for more color I guess.

do you know where i can get a set for under $200? i ckecked the classified but don't see any.
are you selling yours? or did you sell them already?

Get what for $200? Bulbs or entire HID system?

minsbang Jan 27, 2004 08:26 AM

I LOVE my HIDs! :)

Nothing beats HID's in the rain. With normal halogen headlights, you can't even see them on the wet pavement, that is not true with HID's, they look white even on wet pavement.

don't bother because you light housing will spread the light upward causing glare to on comming traffic and you won't have much light shining to the ground. unless you get your hands on some projector light housing our reflector are diffent from yours.

Man, the only HIDS you'll find even near that price would be too hot to even touch....

I have the DataDots Recall done on mine and it's been so cold up here in NY I haven't even bothered to pop the hood to see what they did to protect them. I do notice the stickers on my windows though (hopefully the would be thiefs do too!!!!)

my 2001 lights just suck in the rain, it even sucked more when I had superwhites.

the 02 is just amazing, you see everything like a normal night. I was thinking about putting superwhites in the high beams on my 02 but because the stock will show more in the bad weather I'll leave them on for now.

Ya I love mine too. Combined with the driving lights, they're awsome! Light up everything brilliantly.

no problems in the rain here...
