I'm new to Maximas. Did the '00 & '01 have Xenon headlights as an option?
 
Either way can you buy the 2002 Xenon headlight ballists and install on the '00 & '01? If you can add the Xenon headlights will it throw off the ECU with the higher voltage?

just buy the 2002/2003 headlights thru Nissan or get them at a junk yard. They weren't an option in 00/01.

like dave said, you can buy them. courtesy nissan has them for around 1300. i'd get them but then i would worry about them being stolen. a good idea would be to just buy PIAA Extreme White or Silvarstar bulbs and save yourself the $$ and stress

Well thsoe bulbs aren't bright. To save money, get a Bohmen HID kit.

the Xenons run on 35w and the Halogens run on 55w....voltage/wattage would not be a problem

Living in Farmington, you don't have to be scared about having the hids stolen. It's NJ & NY that has the theft problems. I see plenty (a lot) of 02/03's around
Connecticut and they have no theft problem.
