What H4's are u guys using?
Im sure this has probably been answered somewhere but i cant find anything in the recent threads.
What do you guys think are the best H4 bulbs(piaa, raybrig, XD5, silverstars) that provide the most illumination (i dont care about color). For those that have had various bulbs, Id like to know which ones lasted the longest. Someone mentioned the XD5's were good. Does anyone have these in their car and how is their lifespan/brightness? thanks. |

The first week I got my car and went to www.optauto.com and replaced all of the bulbs on my car with PIAA Xtreme Whites. I replaced the headlights with H4's, foglights with H3's, turn signals, and clear sidemarkers. The headlights looked great, but one of mine died almost one year later to the date of purchase. I love the clean and crisp white output of the foglights, they match the headlights perfectly. They are good halogen lights, if you cannot afford, or do not want to upgrade to HIDs, which is what I ended up doing. Go with the PIAA Xtreme White H4's though, they will do the job well.

One thing though... dont buy that crap off of ebay... especially the "6.95" H3 fogs... they'll burn out after you hit a speed bump. They suck... PERIOD.

Silvania Silverstars
Aussie983,
Using Silvania Silverstars, one of my bulbs blew after 14mths of service just 2 days ago. I'm thinking of going with PIAA Xteme Whites now.. By chance, does anyone know how good the Xtreme Whites are in wet weather (ie. for road illumination?) Thanks. |
