people who have lowered..how's your tires?
just wanted to know how a drop will affect the tire wear or uneven tire wear. i had a integra gsr before my max and it was lowered 1.5 in all around on eibachs and my tires got owned by negative camber wear quickly and the insides of the front tires were bald as mr. clean and got there fairly quickly. is there any way to prevent this? is it a big problem with the maximas with a drop? what camber kits are available?

depends on how much drop you want. I would say with the available lowering springs for maxima, people dont really have uneven wear unless the alginment is off after the install. I have eibach prokit and after 35k miles of riding it, I dont have any problem with uneven tire wear. You probably had Eibach sportsline for your integra. if you decided to lower it more with coilovers, you might need the camber plate. |

Speaking of alignment, I'm getting Maxspeeds installed sometime this month. Will I need an alignment and if I do, do I need a wheel alignment or camber and toe?

It seems like I need new front tires every 10k miles, regardless of the brand, compound, or the way I drive. The rear tires barely wear at all

I'm planning on lowering with H.Techs, and then putting my 19's on a week or two later. I don't want any alignment shop so much as breathing near my wheels, so will I be okay getting the alignment after my drop and before putting my wheels on? I guess what I'm asking is, will putting my larger wheels on after my post-drop alignment throw it back off at all? Thanks in advance for your answers.

something must be wrong. I still have the original tires on and I put ~50k miles on them. I do rotate them every ~7000 miles though. what does everybody use to lower the car? I have koni and eibach and I have no alignment problem or uneven tire wear. The alignment after the install indicates the camber was off a little but everything else was fine. |
I have had my Eibachs for roughly 6,000 miles. I got an alignment right after, and everything looked ok when I changed my oil after 3k. Just two weeks ago I was planning on changing my oil and doing a tire rotation, and when I got under the car to change the oil I noticed that my front tires were balding on the inside. I guess my question is, will a camber kit and another alignment fix the problem???? I really hope so becuase I don't want to buy another two tires in another 6k.

Maxspeeds here for 25K miles with no abnormal wear of the tires and no alignment.
If you get an alignment this will fix the problem. Talk to the alignment person and if they don't have enough play to get a good alignment then you will need a camber kit to get an extra few degrees of movement. Looks like people do not need extra camber adjustments until the drop is more than 2 inches. |
An alignment will not fix your camber problems if they are two far out of spec. The only way to avoid this is by
A) getting a camber kit, or B) buying suspension setup that has pillow ball mounts(like mine, JIC FLT-A2). There is no need for any camber kit or adjustment in the rear because of the multilink suspension crap, it all drops together (no pivot point). Even if you don't drop your car very much, you should still get an alignment. Any time you change or adjust your suspension you should get an alignment, also need one when you get new tires. |
The fact that I drive about 15 miles of curvy, pot-hole filled road every day might have something to do with my tire wear.

I think they are referring uneven as only the outside or the inside of the tire wears out.

you should get an alignment after your springs have settled... not right after you ahve installed it...

the wear on the inside of my front 2 tires went bald fast, but the funny thing is the camber looks way off in the rear..like everyone else said "Alignment" or "Camber correction kit"..
