Many new pics and some new/updated how-to's...

I did some detailing this weekend and couldn't resist taking a few new shots of the Max with the new drop & DDE's.

The new pics are here: http://www.innerbean.com/housecor/2004_3_14.html

Here's one shot:
http://www.innerbean.com/housecor/im.../IMG_2586t.jpg

Also, I posted some new how-to's:
-How to rewire fogs (to come on without headlights)
-How to install Umnitza DDE Lightning (Angel Eyes) <-updated with more pics/tips
-How to fix rear window wind noise
-How to clean/replace in-cabin microfilter <-updated with better pics/instruction

For those who haven't visited yet, there are quite a few more how-to's I didn't list above and I plan to add more soon. Give them a look and let me know if you have any suggestions/comments!

Site looks great! Awesome pics. I was just wondering if you had any tips for what kind of camera settings you use to capture the DDE's. Every pic I have taken of mine, the DDE's look brigher than they actually are and they are overexaggerated and blurred i guess you could say. Ive tried a few different things but cant seem to get a decent pic of them. Thanks.

Ha! I've been goofing around with photography for the last year or two - mainly architecture so far. Then recently I decided to throw the whip into some shots. Hey, this is my proof that Kansas isn't just barns and windmills... :grinno: Thanks for the great feedback guys!

Liar!!! You know damn well that all 2.7 million of us Kansas Citians live on farms. Who ya fooling :slap:

Which building are you shooting at in Corporate Woods? I'm going to have to go snap some shots there.

Thanks scmaxima2k. :) It's easiest to get good shots on the "flower" (close-up macro which is signified by a flower on most cams) at around dusk. But, if you want a shot of them when it's black out:
1. Put cam on tripod
2. Set the camera levels by pressing the shutter button halfway down while the camera is right in front of the DDE's. This sets the levels so the DDE's don't wash the photo out. *My cam does this but some may not operate the same. Basically, you need to set the camera to a very fast shutter speed so the DDE's don't wash out.*
3. While continuing to hold the button halfway down move the camera back a bit to desired location and stabilize shot with tripod.
4. Continue to hold the shutter button and press it down fully when you're ready.
5. Post your results!

Harassment from the home town crowd!? :grinno: Hey Dave - I took many in front of the builiding at the intersection of 69 and 435. The other few were in the center of corporate woods - I don't know street names, but you can't miss the big blue glass building.

Very nice site. The foglight rewire looks easy. Local shops up here get $60 just for the labor.

How much did the PIAA H3 Bulbs run you?

That building you shot your pictures next to is awesome. Is that vasoline you used to treat your leather?! :grinno:

 Does it look greasy? Yeah, my girlfriend was giving me a hard time too. I had just conditioned the leather and apparently I went a bit overboard!

It definitely looks good though, you can tell you are a detailing enthusiast by how perfect your car is, exterior and interior. Great shots BTW.

What springs did you use to drop your car? Sorry, didn't check.

Thanks man. I went with Progress - I chose them because they're arguably the most even drop offered on traditional springs. I love the combo with Illuminas.

Nathan Mar 18, 2004 07:50 PM

You take excellent pictures.

I'm so jealous of the weather in Kansas. While my cars covered in mud and salt, yours is so clean and shinny :bawling:

The drop on Progress springs is awesome too!
