Finally shaved Max's butt

Been thinkin bout it for a while, finally got out my "tools" and took off a couple rear emblems. I'm now deciding if I want to make the emblems gold and put em back on. I like the gold edition Maximas (seen very, very few) but I like the shaved look too. Well anyways, here's a pic, dont want the thread to be worthless :)

DO NOT put gold emblems on there. it will ruin the classy look. keep shaved or silver emblems but not GOLD!

never seen a gold edition maxima? it looks real nice... pretty nice on white, awsome on black. but thats from the factory with the gold plating, not just spray paint or somethin. I think i'm just gonna keep it shaved - it was a pain to get all the crap off, might as well leave it off!

Damn...looks pretty good on Glacier Pearl. What did you guys use? Hairdryer and floss?

SEmy2K2go Mar 24, 2004 07:45 PM

Triple8Sol, I used a hairdryer, floss, and some bug and tar remover to de-goo.

Initially, I thought he was talking about his dog, Max. :grinno:

i used a plastic gym membership card (kinda like a credit card) to get the emblems off, then my fingernails to get the glue stuff off. Nothin like some good ol elbow grease! :)

That looks nice

Triple8Sol Mar 24, 2004 09:41 PM

After gettin the emblems off, and most of the sticky stuff with your fingernail, what specific paint-safe products have you guys used to get off the rest of the "goo"

housecor Mar 24, 2004 09:48 PM

Definately don't throw them back on in Gold. It'll look lousy with the chrome hamburger. Ya gotta coordinate.

bigdo26 Mar 24, 2004 10:07 PM

nah wouldnt leave the chrome hamburger if i put them on gold, but I'm just gonna leave it shaved. looks nice. i didnt use any goo-remover. got it all off with my fingernail (now its kinda deformed, but thats ok, it'll grow back)

Anyone ever paint the keyhole on the trunk? I was thinking about it awhile back but got lazy.
