Rev's Bouncing

Hey...this is a weird one that I've not seen before. Long story short, my idle usually sits at 1/2k but recently its been boucing from 0!!! up to 1.2K It will stall several times a day but start right back up. Any ideas?? Thanks!

It started when my check engine light went on but that was bad O2 sensor which has been replaced.

I would love some ideas before I take her in.

if i had to take a guess out of the dark which can be a bad idea, it would be ignition coils. 2k and early built 2k1 are notorious for failing coil(s). was the ses light on?

The SES light came on earlier in the year but that was for a bad O2 sensor...those are fixed but this problem still remains.
You have any idea on the $$ for the fix?

Aside from the ignition coils, dirty throttle body(stuck throttle plate) could be the problem too...try cleaning it out? Also, dirty fuel injectors will cause the idle to flucuate...so get a bottle of B&G44k and dump it in the gas tank.

Wouldn't he throw a misfire code for a coil?

My guess would have been crankshaft sensor. Sounds just like what happened to my GFs Intrigue. I replaced the crankshaft position sensor and it's as good as new. A sensor will cost you anywhere from $30 to $90 depending on the store and brand. OEM obviously costs more.
