Should i get rid of my leather seats for leather seat covers?

i just recently bought a 00 se and which came fully loaded including tan leather seats...i was thinking of trading/selling for cloth seats and just get leather seat covers....i'm trying to do some weight reduction, so how much weight would i save by doing this? any opinions or suggestion would be appreciated....

There are personal comfort and preference reasons for getting rid of the leather, weight reduction and leather seat covers (of all the irony!) aren't one.

Take out all the seats, leave little gas, empty the trunk including donut, jack, strip all underside covers, remove panels and headliner and then you might say you've done weight reduction.

Keep your leather unless you don't want it. :)

yeah but aren't your leather seats heated too? You're gonna love the heated seats in the cold NJ winter :)

yeah my car does have heated seats, anyway i was just thinking but not really considering....just wanted to see what others thought of it...

the heated seats are crucial....

You definately gotta keep the leather seats. The difference in weight isn't going to make a big difference at all. Like the other guys said... those heated seats in the winter are amazing! Not only that, leather makes the car look classier too.

Weight reduction by getting rid of leather seats? You won't notice a damn thing other than the fact that you devalued your car by about $500.

Bad idea. It won't help too much.
