PICS of 5th gens on 20's..?

Does anyone have pics of a 5th gen on 20's? I am curious to see how 20's would look on our car.

Haha, okay.. All of them look way too heavy and shiny for my taste, but to say that they've butchered the Maxima's beauty is to offend a person or two on here. So I'll just blame it on the rims' design......

WOW...thanks for all the links. All of those 20's do look heavy and to flashy bc of their chrome look. I hardly ever see a 20" rim that's silver with lets say a polished lip. Has anyone seen any? A 5th gen slammed on a sporty(non chrome) 20" rim may look nice....hmmmm

What do yall think?...just some ideas running through my head..

They all look like sh*t. There I said it. Anything higher than 19 is overkill. 17 is pretty much perfect, but 18 does it well for me too. This is why I'll never purchase rims that are more than 17''. I've actually thought about getting 16'' lightweight rims instead.

Exactly. There's this nasty symbiosis between the words 20" and chrome. You can go to tirerack and look at the wheels, it shows you differerent setups with whichever wheels you choose.

Arnold, I'll have to completely agree and say I never believed the difference between OEM 16" and 17" until I saw the dyno charts..... if you get lightweight ones, it will make a further difference. Just try to find some lighter tires too.

Yeah, for real. 16'' with a drop would still look alright.; plus the smaller the rim, the cheaper the price =D. As for the tires, I heard the Falken's are pretty light (lighter than the craptenzas). But I wouldn't know just yet, seeing as how Vulcan Tire has yet to ship the backordered motherf***ers. They should've shipped this past Friday, but I've yet to receive any word.

That's for me? If it is, then no way. All of those rims look heavy as hell.

Toyo T1-S are supposed to be the lightest, but price wise they're way up there. Treadwear is 280, compared to the 140 of the craptenzas. Pilot Sport PS2 and Pirelli P-Zero are the best out there, but they're all different tires.. it depends on whether you want all-season or max. performance. But my huge@$$ falkens are working just fine, and you get 420 treadwear with them

I've been treating the Potenzas like sh*t lately (they deserve it). I peel out every chance I get.

Haha, you must be pretty low on miles to be running stock Potenzas. I recently saw a 5.5 gen and the craptenzas were cracked up all around. It was the first time I see cracks in the rubber like that, it looked scary. 00 Maxes came with Toyos and mine went a looooong time ago, I've had these falkens forever and I want to change them because they're bigger than stock. But with my driving it seems like they'll be good for another couple of years......

Racing Hart wheels are two things and neither one is Heavy. The first is expensive and the second is light.

They may be light but they're usually only 7.5" wide so they look like hell. It makes the maxima look like it's on bicycle wheels...save the rh's for hondas.

Why not just have 2 sets of rims? I mean really, do you guys drive around looking for races all the time? I like chrome, and I like to race, so eventually I'll juts buy some chromies and some steelies and call it a day. Just my .02...

some of you sound completely insane to worry about the weight of the tire. you're trying to reduce the mass of an obese car and think that lighter rubber is going to save you? you kid, right?

if you wanted a light car you shouldnt have bought a maxima. if you want to make it faster- do that and stop worrying about lightening the tank. what does this nissan weigh? 4300lbs? good luck going fast without spending your money on moving more air and fuel instead of 'super light rubber'.

beaches.

I'm very happy with my 19s...I had a set of 20's and they were just too big looking. Plus the car drove like crap and handled like a bus. If I had to get another set of 20's it would be the Falken Koblenz. They are cheap and would look 100% SICK on your car.

yeah, those falken koblenz dont look to bad. Those racing hart J5's are about $500 a rim!!...BUT they do look very nice. I have been looking all over and cant find to many nice 20's that arent chrome. Some nice 19's would look nice i guess. http://www.rdmwheels.com/racinghart/cx.htm thse in 19's may look nice.
16" rims are to small...lol...give me a break.

PS..MyOwnNismo...the kit looks nice. are you still going to get jic's??

What a moron. Who is this guy? 4300lbs? Try ~2100lbs. And yes a lighter tire that also has better grip will improve acceleration. Weight reduction mods are a great way to make a car faster and not worry about voiding any warrantees or touching anything under the hood and risking pulling codes.

LOL very well put. Also, try cutting the carbs. 80lbs lighter = almost .1s

Oh I know, I remember that thread a while back. I wasn't addressing you personally. I'm light too and that does help on the track, at least I don't take off my spoiler like other people have done.....

I would think it's more like 10lbs, at least for the 4th gen. Mine is lighter cause it's aftermarket, now I only need a CF hood and I'm ready to go No, seriously, a Max without a spoiler, unless it's a certain color 02/03 GLE, just doesn't look right.

I've been saying it for years now. The Max looks naked without a spoiler on it. Many cars do, in fact.

True true...

Before

And after...

I do like the 5th gen. spoiler, but I hate the Altima and G35 ones. There's a custom one I saw on a 6th gen. at the dealer and I really liked it too, but it didn't have the 3rd LED brake light on it.

I've seen that car around months ago. That neighborhood in the shot looks very familiar.

dont go on dubs....SUVs and DUBS go hand in hand. 19s are max. it also depends on what kinda look/function you want your car to be....racer...smaller rims, light weight, etc.etc.....if you jut wanna roll up and have a nice lookin car lager rims, and you dont really care about weight too much....everyone likes to go fast once in a while, but you have to think about what important to you.

22s on a Monte Carlo

I have seen a majestic blue with 20s and, IMO, they really don't fit the vehicle. Maybe the design.
