yeah, this is a common issue with 02 non-bose HUs. I had mine fixed under warranty by the dealer, but your best bet is just buy an aftermarket one.

Bose has done a good job tricking people into thinking that their radio for your kitchen is as good as their radio for your car. get yourself an aftermarket one and spare yourself a headache.

I would like to get an aftermarket stereo, but I never liked the way they look. I love the stock one, it just doesn’t work. Does anyone know whats wrong with them? What is the problem?

I have the same problem and took it back to nissan... got the new one put in and the same day i grabbed a stereo off the wall in my shop and installed it. so now I got the stock one hanging around until I sell the car. Best way to go is aftermarket with a 2 year warrenty.
