tokico hp's with stock springs?

I need to replace my stock struts because i have maxspeed springs. Now I want to return it to stock height. Will the tokico hp's work well with the stock springs?

Sure, they are better than the stock struts. If you have the money, go with the adjustable Tokico Illumina.

i am considering the same thing. stock shocks stink.

What i wanted to know, can i drop the car with aftermarket springs and leave stock sturts in there? And i am assuming if i leave the stock struts, they will prolly end up blowing out right???

All depends on how low you go and the road condition you live in. Stock struts will eventually blow but it's a good investment to buy a set of aftermarket struts while you are lowering your car.

skyrockerr: that is what i did a couple years ago. now, i want to return it to stock height and i have to buy new struts, i lowered my max with maxspeed springs with stock struts and now they are blown. so now i have to buy new struts to go back to stock height. if i just bought new struts in the first place i would've been able to just swap back to stock and sell the lowering springs and struts.

Gunner, why are you going back? are you selling your maxima?

I maybe interested in your sturts and springs, aftermarket offcourse . Whats the mileage on your Maxima?

No, he wants to get after market struts.... on stock springs, I've read up on this and i've heard it's a much better ride, but of course, you can get different stiffnesses so pay attention.

good luck

skyrockerr, i only have maxspeed springs with blown stock struts on the max now. my sis drives it now so i need new struts. not sure whether or not she wants the stock springs or the maxspeeds yet...

boondoxmax Oct 22, 2004 06:27 AM

i personally like the stock springs. i think the amount of stiffness is just fine. yeah the front gap look bad but i can live with it. the stock shocks are another story. stiffer shocks and the max is good to go. right now i am just having a hard time deciding between tokico hp and kyb gr2. once i make that decision the stock shocks will be history
