Q's for the pro's.

Sorry I'm a rookie, I'll try to be brief. This page is amazing and has been very informative so I wanted to ask you guys. If you could PM or e-mail me suggestions that'd be great.

I need to replace my breaks soon for my 2000 GLE maxima, and suggestions on doing it my self (Faqs?) or what I should replace the pads with? I'm nearing 60k miles.

My bose system is giving me problems, my woofer has a mind of its own and rarely works these days. I've been able to get it on by giggling this component

(Dont know how to attach pictures so I added link)

I don’t know what this thing does, but if I touch it, it seems to turn on, some times only briefly (Rest of the system works fine, only the woofer is dieing). I'd pulled other wires and this seems to be the only thing that turns it on. I'm considering replacing the system but not sure what a good alternative is, I don’t really want to replace the dash (looks nice?). Any suggestions?

And I just landed a new nice job and was thinking about celebrating buy purchasing a remote starter for my car (winter is just around the corner), and suggestions on brands or where to get one installed (including mod kit). Also my remote from the factory seems to have a very limited range, any way to boost that? The main reason I would like a replacement (more range).

Thanks guys (& gals) who may assist me :).

Justin
