Tek-Niq Nov 6, 2004 12:35 PM

the clear is slighly smaller you have to glue it on since is not ment for that install.

Kiosk Nov 6, 2004 12:42 PM

thats funny because I just popped my headlights in oven today to clean them as per the link above from housecor.....it was pretty easy, I put in oven for 35 min @ 250deg, took them out and they came right off (after prying sealant away with small screwdriver......it sounds crazy putting them in oven but works quite fine......good luck

did you glue the clear lens?

Tek-Niq Nov 6, 2004 12:51 PM

don't have to glue them if you don't want. just leave them clear with no cover if you prefer. just get a orange bulb for a susbtitute.

what so funny...
i did that with mine...if your serious about taking the orange piece out tahts waht you have to do
your not gonna burn them if you set the temp low
it just heats up the glue so its easy to sepreate them

LOLLLL!! probably im not gonna do it re, lets say if anything happen with the cops, i will have to oven my headlight again to put the orange lens back.....

aliti19 Nov 7, 2004 01:38 AM

Cops?!? For that?! Are you joking? The cops by me suck, but they'd NEVER say anything about the lenses being clear up front. I've got chrome bulbs that flash amber. Now if you're planning on blue/white turn signal bulbs, that's a diff story.

Re malaka, when i went to motor vehicle for my exhaust, they said when you coming back make sure your side markers will be orange on the front and red on the back.... i have clear side markers

So then you just nod your head, say you'll do it, and tell them to get fuked under your breath.

You gotta clear out the amber. It looks sooo good.
Anywho... i'm going to bed. I'll try to convince you to do it another day.

Can someone post side by side pics (or a link to them) of the plastic clear lens from Home Depot and the one from Tap plastics?
Thanks a million!

Thanks, I'm gonna go with the one you have

Bluesbrekr Nov 7, 2004 09:23 AM

I'm not a fan of the Tap Plastics lens (although no cutting is needed)

Here's my Home Depot clears........

ironmax Nov 7, 2004 09:52 PM

How much cutting is required for the home depot lenses and where did you buy your eye lids from.

danimsta Nov 8, 2004 02:53 AM

looks like leftcoasttuning eyelids, which they dont sell anymore as far as i know :(

Yup, eyelids from Leftcoast and sadly, they don't make them anymore.

You need to cut the Home Depot lens to a smaller circle so they fit. Not that tough to do. Use a Dremel and cut it a bit larger so you can trim it down for a tight fit.

machinehead131 May 24, 2007 05:42 PM

Hey, I could do both angel eyes and this at the same time correct?

MyBlue02 May 24, 2007 06:28 PM

yes you can do both

Sure could. In fact, it's the perfect time. I'm going to replace a clearance light at the same time i clear my HID's. I'm also going to replace my fog light bulbs.

Park2670 May 24, 2007 07:22 PM

I got really good at doing it. Actually opened up the headlights on my Maxima 5 or 6 times.
