Maxima Forums - Rear wheel hub install help!

Remove the wheel, 21 mm lug nut size, then you will need to get a flat head screwdriver and pop off the center cup off- its kinda goldish in color. When reinstalling it gently tap it with a rubber malet in place. After that you will a 32 or 34mm socket to remove the center nut. Remove the caliper off its slider- should be 12mm bolts that hold the caliper to the torque member- what holds the pads in. Put the caliper out of the way and then remove the torque member off the suspension beam, with the pads still on it. Then grab a hammer and hit the rotor in between the wheel studs, all around to free up the rear rotor from the hub- it loves to rust on so you will need a BFH to give it a few love taps :) After you get the rotor free and pull it off the hub, and have the center nut off- the 32 or 34mm one ( sorry been a while since I done mine ) the wheel bearing should slide right off. How much was the hub ? I did mine in the back like a year ago, and just did my front bearings on Monday, still got some noise coming in, might be the rears again, or my bent rear wheel with a uneven wearing tire. I would like to have all new bearings on the car if possible. When doing the fronts I advise you to get the HUB also, its not part of the wheel bearing like the rear ones. You will need a press to press out the front bearings out of the steering knuckles, its deff not a job for DIYers, unless ya have a bearing press and impact tools to do it with.
