What's wrong with my car..

Hi fellas, my maxima has been acting weird lately. Sometimes it shakes back and forth when I come to a stop, the car just shakes badly like it's gonna bust out instead of being stopped...I don't know what's going on. I can still rev the car pass 4k rpm..so i don't think it's my MAF. Please help me to figure out. There's no ses light, but i'm not sure if the bulb is blown...thx

I can't help you with the problem, but when you turn on the car the SES light comes on for a few seconds then it goes away. check if the bulb is still good......

Yeaaah...I have that too at the rear. It only happens when I stop at a high point -- like on a highway thats way above ground. I don't know why it happens, but I suspect it has to do something with the exhaust. I dunno - blah.

maybe its the ignition coils? i think autozone would be able to pull the code (if there is one) without SES light being on.

Could be the tranny also. I seen torque converters locked up and won't dissengage when coming to a stop. This causes a vibration, and alot of times feels like misfire and engine wants to die out, or dies out. Basically its like driving a 5spd car, and coming to a stop without pushing the clutch in- the wheels wanna spin cause the tranny is still engaged in a gear, but it can't cause the brakes aren't letting it ! U say something bout the car wanting not to stop but to still go ? sounds like a tranny.

my fault, i glanced at your side profile and thought it said 2k1. you can definately have the transmission checked out but my guess is that its a misfire caused by the 1 or more coils. they have a very high failure rate in 99, 00 & early build 01.
