who has the earliest 5th Gen here?
 

mine is #1453, built in 04/1999.

I'd bet mine is the latest. Where's the number located? I know that mine was built during the last production month of the 5.5 gen.

Where is the Number At?

it's the last 5 or 6 digits of the VIN and the build date is on the sticker on the b pillar or the driver door opening.

Mine was built in 12/99. Luckily, around that time the 17" wheels were offered as an option for the SE models, whereas the earlier models were 16" stock. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

1/2003 was the production month for 03's.

I guess mine was an early bird since I had the old 16" stock wheels....

Mine is 05/2001

Mine came with the 16's too....my vin ends 3141 and was first registered on 10/12/99....all i have with me is a copy of the carfax for the car so dunno the actual build date since the car is at home lol

Mine was born in June of 99.

I know there are some extrememly early 5.5th gen out there because before I bought mine in 12/2001 I saw one in New Orleans at about 4/2001. I was hooked after I saw that bad boy. I never really payed any attention to the other 5th gen, but something about the majestic blue with the new tails I loved.

well idk but one of my boy's 2k1 had a build date of 6/01 and my car (2002) was built in 7/01

i had like one of the first 5.5 gen in the new jersey area.

3/01, purchased in April 01. Car didn't sit without an owner long at all. =D

Either I'm dumb, or the sticker is not there. It should be right below the driver's door d-ring latch, (like every other car) right?

my 00 se was built on 9/99....so far i don't have any problem regarding ignition coils or maf...however, i did have wrap rotors which i replace them already along with brake pads...

mine was registered with the dmv on 9/27/99, but I still can't find the build date sticker on the car. :tard: Last digits of VIN are 16299, if someone knows how to look it up...

I don't think that's the right way to figure out the date....mine is 5052....

there is a date 05/02 but mine is a 2003 :gapteeth: so i can't be the earliest.

They didn't start making the 5th gen until 03/99... Plus someone just said they had a 07/99 starting with 17xxx, so zourtney's should be around that date.

And IIRC, you get the 17" only with a sunroof if you get the Comfort and Convenience package. I don't know about the date of availability of this package.

Mine's a 07/01 2002 as well. :)

7172 not sure what that means

i bought mine 7-3-00, when the 17"- ers kicked in. the last 6 digits of the vin are 544364... i've been fussing on this board lately, but i will always love the car!!

06/99 Purchased in New Jersey In September 1999

I remember them hitting the dealers in late Aug.2001., I was the 2nd one to drive it. I was like man this Maxima was so much quicker than any other auto Maxima I had driven stock, even the sales rep was like dam*. it is!

You dealer will print out one of these forms that has production date and plant etc. for ya free, my service advisor printed mine for me and I keep it in the Glove Box.

That's weird, mine was build in May 2001 and it's a 2001 and i guess they change to the 5.5 just shortly after May. Darn, I should have waited out for one more month then I would have have a 5.5 gen. Funny though, when I bought mine, there was three left of the 5 gen at my dealer, two SE and one GLE. They didn't get the 2002 yet, i guess they got it late.
