Okay, now light bulbs, I know the type for the max in H4, but what is the deal with the volt and watt numbers? Do we need specific numbers or are they just indicating the brightness of the bulb?

I want a white light, no blue, purple, yellow etc, can anyone recommend a bulb and retailer? Should I get new fog light bulbs at the same time since the headlights and fogs might not match?

Gracias a todos...

Check the light bulb faq sticky thread for wattage ratings....I am going to get Raybrig Metal Whites for my headlights....I have heard that they are really white....check out their website:

So you have to get the exact wattage ratings: 55/65?

Which are better, Raybrigs or PIAA?

stick with the stock ratings if you are keeping the stock wiring harness....you don't want it to melt. Actually, the H4 rating should be 55/60 W....

as for PIAA vs Raybrig, just from seeing the two, I would say Raybrig metal whites are brighter....but I am sure there are other opinions on this.

sorry, but I don't know jack about this...

where and for how much are the new wire harnesses?

Do they have the raybrig metals in 55/60?

thanks a lot...

APC makes wiring harnesses that allow you to use higher wattage bulbs...not sure about pricing though.

The metal whites come in 55/60W....there is a group deal that areX is setting up...check the group deal forum....

Just order the super white Piaa's from stillen they will get the proper ones to you. I think the Piaa's look just as good as the HID. Many people mistake mine for HID.

Don't get confused...

There are two numbers on most aftermarket bulbs. The first will mostly be either 55/65 or 80/80. Then there will be a second number (printed much larger on the box) which will say something like 110/110 or 125/135. The second and higher number is what they claim the bulbs look like when lighted. The first number is the actual wattage. Just be sure the actual wattage is 55/60 or 55/65 and the other # doesn't matter.

If you're trying to avoid the blueish HID look, then go with Raybrig Magnum's. The Metals and White Thunders (I have) are designed to give the HID look. I am going to put the Magnum's in my fogs (they're in my backseat right now) because I don't want any blue in the fogs.

In regards to replacing both, if you put a seriously white light in the headlights...the fogs will take on a yellow tint in contrast while they are both lit...so you will probably want to replace both.
