Wanted To Check And See If Any One Could Post The Best Way To Install A Inchannel Weather Tech Windguard. Any Suggestions I Dont Have The Instruction Sheet But I'm Sure Its Easy Just Don't Want To Put Them On And Have Them Falling Off 2 Months From Now. Thanks ...

yea its pretty easy to do. I dont have pics on how to do it but basically start with the front 2 windows. Bring your window all the way down or atleast half or more down, then take your windguard starting with the point closest to the front of the car and put that part into the window channel. THen keep moving while bending the windchannel slightly until the whole deflector is in. It may seem like you are bending it too much to get the right angle and dont bend too much but its pretty flexible. Use this method for each window and you should have no problems at all.

ALSO VERY IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE ITS ABOVE 50 DEGREES OR SO (I dont remember what the install sheet said exaclty, but it should be warm) WHERE YOU ARE DOING THIS INSTALL CAUSE THE COLDER IT IS THE LESS THE WINDGUARD WILL BE ABLE TO BEND AND YOU WILL END UP BREAKING OR CRACKING IT.

^^^ thanks, I'm currently in like 10 degree weather out here in NYC, so I guess I wont be tryin this any time soon. However, do you know if the guard is supposed to have tape all around the sides or only on like 2 of the sides the front end and the back end?? I bought these used from someone on the .org and the tape was all done so I need to put more double sided on it which isn't a big deal just wanted to know if I should place tape all around the edge of the Vent?

Do these actually reduce wind noise? OR create more?

i think the inchannel reduce the noise or have no effect the outer guards the ones that stick to the door SUX they create wind noise even at low speeds.

I'd be interested to hear if these work. I hate the wind noise when I'm driving to work in the morning. Keep us posted.

There is a wind noise TSB......the search is your friend.

I did the wind noise TSB and it is still unacceptable. HArdly even made a difference. Try driving in an audi and then going back to your Maxima. The noise is almost unbearable. I just want something to reduce it until I buy my first high end car in a few years.

they didnt do it right, have them do it again. When they did mine, my car was SILENT afterwards compared to before, but still a few ticks louder than my benz

I wouldn't be able to say if its any louder I can't install these bad boyz yet too cold here in NY with the snow and cold weather dont look like I'll be able to set these up any time soon.

If your putting aftermarket double-sided tape on your In-Channels, be careful. I installed In-Channels on my wifes truck and the tape was extremely thin compared to the ones that tape on the outside. paper thin. And it did go from one end to the other. If your tape is thick at all, your window may have trouble going up. And the manufacturer also recommends not rolling your windows down for 3 days after installation. This allows the rubber seal on the inside to adjust itself to the added thickness of the plastic. On my wifes truck, I had to physically push the windows all the way up for several days before the inner seal got "used to" the different thickness.

where should i buy the double sided tape from??? do they have a special type that you can buy?

They don't really cut down on wind noise but cut down on the turbulence by having the window down a couple of inches. I'm looking for that thin double sided tape too.

I used regular thickness 3M's and no window rolling problems if this will help you. The thin double side tape I think I saw at Autozone.

I actually have the ones that dont use any tape at all, they fit right into the Window channel. I would say they helped out with wind noise and that helicopter sound when your windows are down. Overall i like them alot.

what kind of ventguards did you have? I have the weathertech one, I think they still need tape but they look like they could fit Ez without any tape.

The front can sit in channel w/o tape but will flap around a little if u drive fast and window down. The same goes for back but when u roll the windows down, it may actually slide down with the window. :bonk: Save the headaches and get it taped :hahano:
