Tein S-Tech's and G35C's

Ever since I put on my G35C's I've had some rubbing issues in the back. So, I picked up a set of tires (235/40/18) from a friend of mine, and had them mounted up today. Then I slapped them on and went for a drive. So far, so :D good! I went on some familiar roads that I would've bottomed out on, and it was alllllllllll gooooooood! No more rubbing issues. I think the Tein S-Tech and G35C combo looks very NICE! :woot:

Here's a couple of pics for now. This is with the 245/45/18 Michellin Pilots in the back. I'm going to go outside and take a couple of pics with the 235/40/18's. (Just don't tell my boss that I'm f--king around outside taking pictures.) The wheel gap got a bit larger, but at least it doesn't rub, and at least it doesn't look like I'm riding on balloons!

Okay, I'm back. I took a couple more shots with the new tires.....well actually they're used, but who the hell cares. The look is much better with the smaller profile tires, and not to mention the feel. So Tein S-Tech owners have nothing to fear if running these wheels.

Sorry, the last picture kinda sux! From the pictures, it's hard to tell the size difference, but in person it's very noticeable. And so hopefully now I can move on with more mods!

Well, unfortunately they did. I think others haven't had problems with the milder drops ( Maxspeeds, Eibachs, and H&R's ), but I'm on S-Techs (2.2" F and 1.6" R). As far as the offset, it's a +30, which is not exactly "Spec" for our FWD Maxima's, but like Irish, I was looking for something to fill up and fill out the wheel opening. Not to mention the killer (IMO) looks of the wheels. And, not to mention the CRAZY deal I got them for. All in all, I'm happy. :p

Maybe, the Y-pipe.......but only if the service gets better! LOL, Just kidding. I think my next mod is going to be to finish up my suspension and get some Illuminas. But, luckily, that's coming from my other half! But after that, definately the Y! Thanks for the compliments...........oh and I'm impressed with your knowledge of the local lingo!

It could happen from a wrong tire size -- in this case, it did. :p

BRAN808 Jan 20, 2005 02:16 PM

Yeah, 245/45+30 offset+Tein S-Tech drop=headache!

joebangaa Jan 21, 2005 10:20 AM

and 4pot calipers clear g35's correct? there's even some 19's that dont clear

BRAN808 Jan 21, 2005 10:29 AM

I would imagine that it would depend more on the style and offset, than diameter. Is that correct, or would that have nothing to do with it. I know that certain size rotors won't clear certain wheels, depending on diameter.
