Blew ignition fuse!! Help!

OK, so I was on vacation this past week and my car was sitting for 6 days straight. I got it washed the day I left so as to avoid any damage from dirt and bird poop.. :)

Anyways, I tried starting it today and it didn't even begin to turn over. I knew my ignition was f'd up..

So I popped the hood and looked for blown fuses and sure enough, the 40amp ignition fuse was dead. Great, now I have found the problem and can fix it (I hope Kragen carries these!!)

BUT

What caused this to happen?!?!??!?!??!?! I'm scurred now that something worse is still there, dormant, and will cause this to happen again in the future possibly...

My only mods are:

* Stereo system incl. amp - hooked up to + on battery and remote lead on head unit
* Cold-Air Intake
* Axle-Back Muffler

Any idea what could have caused this?!?!??!

Thanks!
Kevin

One other point of interest. It has been raining here lately. I'm wondering if somehow rain got into the circuit and shorted it out, because nothing else has changed, like I said the car was working, I parked it for a week, and now the ignition shorted and blew the fuse, so could water be the culprit? Where can I look to see water entering the circuit? Why on Earth would there even be open wires which water could get to?!?!?

I picked up a 40amp busslink fuse today and it did the trick; however, I'm still a bit puzzled how this happened in the first place. I hope it isn't some fluke thing which keeps happening. I hope it was not water-induced, because that means there's some connection or wiring exposed somewhere.. ugh...

AAARGH! It has happened again this morning (3 days later).. WTF!?!

The weird thing is that my car is parked upwards on my sloped driveway like it was last time, whereas usually I park downwards, so maybe it *IS* water-induced (from morning dew which there is a lot of, on my car)...

Any ideas on how I can diagnose this?!?! I don't want to waste my time/money going to Nissan.. :(

HELP!

Try to cover the fuse and see if that helps...try silicone...

The fuse is already in a fusebox and no sign of water.. It must be hitting/shorting elsewhere, but where?

Stupid question: Where is the starter/ignition on the 5th gen maxima under the hood???

I got some strange problem too with my car. They dashboard was not working and car would not drive. They said that wiring for ecu was damaged. Not sure why and how it happened. Maybe because of this cold weather??
