What're your Illumina's set to?

Just got my Illumina's and H&R's delivered this weekend. (Thank you Justin D.) I was curious to find out what you guys have your settings on. I'm looking for a good comfortable ride without tooooo much loss on performance. I did quite a bit of research before I went for this combo. Many thanks to you all for your comments and opinions. This website forum is awesome. Anyway, I wanted to see what the best setting was for the Illumina's. So for those who are riding on Illumina's, what do you have them set to? And what was your preference? (Comfort or performance.)

And I just want to add that I recommend you guys go through Justin D. at Import Car Parts Plus. Nice guy to deal with and he responds in a short enough time without giving you the run-around. Just give him a day or so to respond. Seems to be busy as hell... :chuckle: Just check under the Group Deals section in this forum.

Thanks,
Mike

Ive got Illuminas with Tein S-Techs and a custommaxima ftsb. Set on 4 all around...had em for a while now though, thinking of putting the rears on 5.

Comfort & performance

3/3 for me. Find that these settings are the best for both worlds. Both perfromance and comfort. Although 3F/4B is nice aggresive feel but on occasion it would wake my sleeping daughter.

Yeah, Justin has always been really helpful whenever I've asked him for prices and stuff... too bad I've never actually bought anything from him... yet...

I have 2F/2R and I love it

roll4life Jan 31, 2005 09:48 PM

wait the lower the number the more aggresive it is? or opposite?

I've got 'em on 5/5 with Eibach Pro Kits... it's pretty stiff but I've seen stiffer. That being said, it gets a little bone-jarring sometimes and I think you wouldn't approve :)

Thinking of lowering the front a tad - this might sound funny but I'm worried that I might fry a head on my hard drive and will loose all of my music in the car (got an in-dash HD). Excess vibrations = bad.

The higher the number the firmer the ride. 1=soft 5=firm.

Its all about 3/3 .... does a good job for performance and for the comfort level.. Good stuff. :D

I've seen a lot of 2/2 and some 3/3 from people looking for performance that is better than stock without giving up too much ride quality. For people who want to maximize performance and who don't care about their kidneys, 4/4 or 4/5 :)

Kevin Feb 1, 2005 12:15 PM

side question - what on the ilumina equates to tokico blues?

spirilis Feb 1, 2005 01:12 PM

2F/3R ... stayed there pretty much 99% of the time I've had them. Definitely a comfort setting, not overly good for high speed handling though.

3f/3r

I had some mechanic install my illuminas and cut my bump stops too much. I'm getting energy suspension polyurethane bump stops put in today...ill post the results

I think i'm gonna go 3f/3r too.... i will be on tein s-techs.... and was wondering if it is necessary to cut the bump stops...

I've got mine set on 2f/2r, comfortable ride on smooth roads, a little harsh on rough roads, but not too bad. ZeRo MaX, always trim your bumpstops when lowering your car.

Epacy Feb 1, 2005 04:55 PM

Depends on what I am doing.

1-2F/3R for everyday driving

4F/3-4R for street manuevers
