hid foglight/headlight q's

well, I just installed my xtec hid system for my foglights, they are the h3 bulb, and they are super bright, they seem to overpower the stock hid headlights and make them look like a regular halogen bulb in comparison, is the car using too much power to run both at the same time, or should I replace the stock hid headlamps with xtec hid's instead?

whats the K on the Xtec Kit? your stock Headlight HID bulb is 4300K if the xtec kit is 6000k or 8000k it will deffinetly look brighter then your headlights

Ammi Feb 13, 2005 03:22 PM

Ummmm..... higher the K rating, dimmer it gets

umnitza has a gd for 8000k bulbs. thats the only way you will get them to match. about 150 or so. check the gd section//

you are both saying the same thing.
Higher K = less output, more glare.
Lower K = more output, less glare.

umnitza Feb 26, 2005 05:25 PM

probably poltergeists....

j/k

sounds like a CWP - cold weather problem, one ballast not giving out full juice.

try soldering leads together

nismo0604 Feb 26, 2005 09:28 PM

Mine never have a problem starting in the cold...even in 8º weather they lit up nicely....you have to hard wire them or else the connection is crap.
