Shouldn't everything performance wise be though? I mean, you guys did an entire turbo se-tup for the FWD 3.5l, no easy task ...

myktek Mar 23, 2005 02:17 PM

i want one that looks like and apexi n1 or worldsport... =)

RacertilTheEnd Mar 23, 2005 02:25 PM

I like the first one. I think it looks more agressive

MaxSE-R Mar 23, 2005 04:50 PM

so is this exhaust system goin to be ss through the whole system or just the muffler??

Same here...twin tips (nice looking tips, like the frankencar tips with the mesh lining material), not too big 2.5-3" tops

NO droning...sounds stock at idle, and smooth on accelleration (like a G35 as mentioned above).....

SS is a must.

perfect fit is a must, of course

+1 !

Just spoke with Brian Catts to see if he could bargain on the black CAI and cat-back as a package, and he replied that he will actually be upping his price on the cat-back by $40 when his new site goes online. Sounds like he has great products, but we don't all have a cool grand to lay out on intake/exhaust.

If they make a nice sleek single tip like the 2nd one pictured... you can have my Frankencar.... for a reasonable price of course... :)

Ya just need to wait till I have my Mossy exhaust, I will start a group deal :P I don't think anyone will wanna buy Cattman after that. I will take detailed pictures of the exhaust and you can compare the 2. I leave this conversation at that.

roll4life Mar 23, 2005 07:37 PM

i like the single tip much better..stillen..greddy..they look nice to me..the dual tips aren't my style..but the G35 sound sure is nice

you love those single tips, Greddy boy :jeffy:

MAX 2NR Mar 23, 2005 08:14 PM

i like the stock style with twin tips also. i'm gonna be lookin for a catback soon. if it sounds good, looks good, gains hp, good fitment and is cheaper than frankencar count me in.

nirvana4all Mar 23, 2005 08:37 PM

not angle, what about quad tips, atleast dual exhaust, but quad tips would be real nice, a kinda upgrade of the custommaxima.com dual exhaust version for 5th gens

Thats soo easy to make, its what i have all u have to do is take the CM tips (not rear section) off and add dual tips.

But id say u guys at SSR would get more business with headers since there arent many companys that make some nice headers for the 5th gens.

All Stainless, including flanges and muffler etc.

BlackBIRDVQ Mar 24, 2005 05:26 AM

Custom maxima alone would not have sold..what is it now 9000 or so of them if there was no interest in seeing a max with dual exhausts, check their site, and look at the pictures before you try and tell me it does not look good. If you still say so, then that is your opinion.

If you start a group deal and its cheaper than cattman, i think you'd have a lot of people interested, myself included.

Who told you they sold 9000 of them?!?! maybe on 4th gens but I only know of 1 5th gen with it. There really is no purpose of having this type of exhaust except for looks.

BlackBIRDVQ Mar 24, 2005 04:26 PM

9000 exhausts sold ? Man those have to be the nastiest sounding Maximas out there. I see more Greddy exhausts on Maximas than some cheap sh!t CM puts out. I don't think we even have 9000 members here on the forum, and if we did- not everyone has their exhaust. CM products suck, the only good thing they sell is the resonated test pipe. And once again I don't drive a Pontiac GTP or whatever they sell that has 4 exhaust tips.

Talyan03 Mar 24, 2005 04:41 PM

Hi evryone i'm new to Org. Today is my fist time I’m writing comment’s .since I can’t post yet, but I want to say that the stock stile would look good

:sprint: I am not sure about quad tips but dual exhaust i would love to have those on my max. even if its just for looks but if SSR can do looks and performance that would be freakin awesome.

SixxOne Mar 24, 2005 06:39 PM

G35

If it sounded close to a G35 I would buy.

mingo Mar 24, 2005 07:40 PM

if i'm not mistaken, your r&d shop is located in southern california right? if so let me know if you need a donor car

bgates1654 Mar 25, 2005 06:16 AM

I would love to see a set of headers that fits as well as cattman's and makes similar if not more power at a less expensive price. You would definitely have my business at that point. As for the catback or muffler or whatever you are doing there I think stock-like is the way to go. Oh and an intake manifold would be nice, unless the price makes it not worth it. I am not sure I would pay more than $50/hp(or tq) over a decent rpm range.

StAtiXz6 Mar 25, 2005 07:54 AM

X( i like angled

MaxSE-R Mar 25, 2005 12:45 PM

if you guys get a good price on headers and exhaust system, let me know i'll be willing to buy one. been saving up to get the cattman headers but if you guys have one comin out soon, i'll wait

MaximusMorpheus Mar 25, 2005 02:18 PM

Stock looking would look nice- dual tips. Very good if this happens.

Derrick2k2SE Mar 25, 2005 05:49 PM

I'd be in for a set of headers for the 3.5 that were cheaper than the Cattman but fit well and produced power. They wouldn't even have to be as pretty. They could be all welded up like on the 3.5 turbo setup. I'm in the market for some headers right now. My main interest is producing power and having a good fit. The header selection is pretty limited for the 3.5 cars.

No problem, it looks real nice, even my girl who only likes the G35 (VERY PICKY GIRL) likes them. I think it looks real nice, even a dual exhaust with single tips like the G35, altima se-r, z350, etc. It is a nice look, and likely my next mod, thanks to dealer it came with a lot of other niceties added in.

lol yeah i know. But u are right it isjust dual tips, and does nothing at all for performance. and is purely a cosmetic mod, that adds a nice Deep tone

irish44j Mar 25, 2005 09:04 PM

I want dual exhaust, but I want them to be like a big rig, with one pipe sticking up next to the car.

thephatOne Mar 25, 2005 09:19 PM

haha, I would be in if it was a very subtle look (stock) and sounded good dont mind a gurgle on idle, but at WOT it would have to sound aggressive.
