White Calipers *PICS* Opinions Please

I did this as an experiment, while I changed my tranny I need opinions, I wanted either red or yellow but wanted to try white and here it is. What do you think? yes or no?

BTW this is high heat temp paint wich holds a maximum of 1500°F. Our calipers go about as high as 500°F max.

No go on the white calipers.

Either black or silver (maybe). Any other color does not look good on a Max, especially on a stock max w/ no brake upgrades.

Lontar1 04-05-2005 09:49 AM

Nope stay away from colors other than black or silver. I have silver on my car and it looks great.... I mean I like it

Gillikanoosis 04-05-2005 09:51 AM

White

I like it, matching the car and all, but I agree, why draw attention, however little, to stock calipers?

chris'smax 04-05-2005 09:54 AM

good luck keeping those clean. In about a month or two they will be stained with brake dust and road grime. They look okay right now though:)

ChromeSE5 04-05-2005 09:55 AM

i wouldn't go with white because it will start getting dirty and then start looking like a**. It doesnt look bad though, but silver or black would look a lot nicer.

Maxima260 04-05-2005 10:04 AM

HEY what about chrome? I doubt there is high heat chrome paint though :nervous:

skierxx5556 04-05-2005 10:09 AM

yeah im not really feeling the white... you really cant even see it behind the stock wheels eaither...

ThunderMaxi 04-05-2005 10:09 AM

I agree with the others. WHite will get so dirty and you will have to re-paint them.

I have never seen a chrome paint that looked chrome.

Puppetmaster 04-05-2005 10:45 AM

On stock calipers... either black or silver... everything else is :chebosto:... that of course, is just my opinion... :)

bigsherv 04-05-2005 10:50 AM

yeah and not to be mean but the quality of how ti got painted doesn't look to good. I don't think white is a very forgiving color.

:sprint: I don't see a point in making the stock calipers stand out more than they already do. Not a good thing.

mdemonte 04-05-2005 10:56 AM

How about blue?

screamindman 04-05-2005 11:03 AM

I did mine in silver because my car is black, but never thought of white. Might look better with white racing rims. Go for yours, its your whip.

ag2k 04-05-2005 11:08 AM

How about red?
I painted mine red on my white 2K. Somewhat matches with the rear red bumper lights.

whazzzzuup 04-05-2005 12:24 PM

I think stock calipers look best they way they are.

SR20RACER 04-05-2005 04:37 PM

I would say no on the white calipers, they may look clean now but it is just a matter of time.............

sublimer 04-05-2005 04:41 PM

Yeah I'd definitely stick with silver or black, unless you have a brake upgrade and have something to show off...

paralyse 04-05-2005 04:45 PM

:007: :007: :007:

JC_2k_SE 04-05-2005 04:46 PM

definitely like the white, but theyre gonna get wicked dirty quick

djsoniq 04-05-2005 04:53 PM

Funny this thread popped up. I'm doing my front brakes and decided to paint that calipers while everything was taken apart. Bought the silver caliper paint yesterday, and I will be doing it Friday, so I'll post pics when I' done. Also doing the full red tails that day...sweet.

xTeCaOx 04-05-2005 05:14 PM

YUP stay away from white....i painted mine white cuz i have a white max too but holy damn that shlt got DIIIIIIIIIIIRTY too quick and it does look like white poop.....

beer20 04-05-2005 07:08 PM

i have to give you props for trying something different, but like others have said, good luck keeping them clean...

lex3015 04-05-2005 07:45 PM

i think it'd be ok if u had black or gunmetal wheels, it kinda gets lost in the alloy especially once the road grime builds up like everyone else has said. just use it as a base coat and paint over it

Kevin 04-05-2005 08:05 PM

once the dirt and brake dust hits it it wont look as good. I dont think its too bad, but you'll have to be diligent about keeping it clean.

you changed your tranny your self?

Ammi 04-05-2005 08:16 PM

not feelin it

Triple8Sol 04-05-2005 08:40 PM

Gonna have to :thumbsdow on the white calipers...

ZIPPIN 04-06-2005 05:42 AM

just when i think i have seen it all ....

no go buddy.... :007:

Mizike 04-06-2005 05:54 AM

not feeling it....id have to agree with black or silver

mingo 04-06-2005 06:47 AM

it's interesting, but it'll be hard to keep clean. i've always been a huge fan of red calipers.. i've painted all 3 sets of my calipers red, the stock, the 300zx and now the AP's... red just looks good =D but that's also because i have a dark colored car.

maybe you want to hit the calipers with a coat or two of high temp clear coat, it might be easier to clean

AcerX 04-06-2005 06:58 AM

Definitely black, the white doesn't stand out enough.
