Latch System/ Child's Car Seat

Hope someone can...

Where are my 2k1 GLE's latch system brackets?

I see the plastic indicators...they have what looks to be a tab for pulling.

On other cars, the brackets are between the seat/ seatback. Can't find 'em in the max.

Please help me protect my little girl and stop me from tearing my seats!!

Fold the seats forward and you'll see them. They are between the seat back and the seat cushion. There's also upper attach points on the rear deck for the front facing seats.

I'm not sure what kind of car seat you use by my son's car seat doesn't use the top latch mounts on the rear deck. His has the base you would connect to hooks in the crease of the seat where the seat belt latches come from. Unfortunatly I couldn't find any hooks for his so I had to use the seat belt to buckle the base in. My son's seat and base are by Graco. What brand is your's?

You have to reach inbetween the seat cushins and feel for them.

I never heard of that brand before. How do you like it? My boy is 2 months and 2 weeks. I'm going to get one of those convertible ones eventually so your input would be appreciated.

Most, if not all, rear facing seats won't use the top t e ther. We have both types of seats and the forward facing one gives us the option of attaching the top of the seat to the t e ther.

edit: Why is the word "t e t" (without spaces) forbidden?

To all who are trying to find the "Latch" points in between the rear seats. They are there, however Nissan put them so far f#*king deep between the seats it is a REAL Pain in the A$$ to hook and un hook the seat. You literally have to put your whole had between the seat to reach the latch. I installed the same seat on my mother-in-laws Honda Accord and the hooks were just beneath the faces of the seat cushions for easy R&R. Another one of Nissans brilliant ideas!

My other car (yes, CAR!) is an MDX and the LATCH on that is easily accessable.

The seat I have uses a seatbelt type latch and it is 1/2x 1/2x 2". definitely a hassle to be jammin thru seats. Oh, the release button is going to be the farthest thing in, when buckled.

y2KAOSMax- You are goina get us suspended for going o/t!

Ok well let's keep it about the max then. Do they offer colors that match the interior? Also can you get Maxima embroidered on the cushion of the seat?

My daughter is 6 mos old and has just about grown out of her Graco snap in seat. I did a bunch of research and the Britax Marathon is highly rated. It is also $250! There's another model that Britax makes that was just recently rated better than the Marathon and it's cheaper ($199). It's called the roundabout. The main difference is that the roundabout can be used till the kid weighs 40 lbs. and the Marathon can be used until 65 lbs.

In the newest issue of Consumer Reports, they rated the Evenflo Titan 5 the best. It also only costs $70. The main thing that makes the Britax seats rate higher in safety, is that they use the same foam that is used in motorcycle helmets to line the entire seat. Most other manufacturers don't use foam at all. A few only line the head area with foam.
