MAF question that's not been covered???

I'm waiting for my new MAF to come in the mail from Dave B. but I'm not sure if its the MAF that's my problem.

My question is if after I replace the MAF with the new one and no changes happen to my car, can I put the old one back in and save the new MAF until I really need it?

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question but I have no idea about this stuff and any help is appreciated.

does anyone know if I can do this?

I'm just looking for an answer here?

It's my understanding that the new MAFS require an ECU update. If you put your new MAF in and nothing changes, then that probably wasn't your problem. As long as you didn't get your ECU updated, you might as well reinstall your original MAF and save the new one for a rainy day. If you did get the ECU updated for the new MAF, you might as well leave the new one in. Don't know about old MAF/new ECU program compatibility.

I don't think it matters... if they're both good you should be able to interchange em with no reprogramming and still run fine.
