Removing Ignition Coils

This should be a simple question. I need to swap around my coil packs. The problem I am having is just getting the harness to unsnap. The front packs were easy, the harness just snapped right off after I pushed the little clip in. The rear packs are being a pain and I already broke one clip.

Do you
1) push in on the center of the green clip and pull the plug off, or
2) push the green clip down inside the shell at the same time you pull the whole plug off ?

I had these off once before and can't remember which I decided was the right way.
Thanks

I'm also in the process of changing my ignition coils and the MAF sensor and I've noticed that most all of the electrical connections have this same plug. Does anyone have the answer to this question? Thanks, in advance.

1. Push in clip
2. Try to wiggle connector off.

I did the coils on my buddies 2k and the clips/connectors are on much tighter than on my 96. It took some serious wiggling/pulling to get some of the clips undone. The other thing you can do is gently use a flat head to push the connector off once you have the clip fully pressed down.

I've had good success with pushing the clip in with a flathead and twisting "gently". Comes right apart.

Removing the Clip

Press the green clip in while holding the outside of the clip until there is a slight click and then comes right off. The middle part slides in a lot farther than you think. Just use a screw driver like they said if you can't get it in far enough.

After the clip is pressed far enough no force is required.
