It's official! No more payments!!!
 

It's been a long time since the last time I was here on the board. Today it's official, that my Max is finally paid off. I got my title in the mail today, I had a huge grin on my face and gleeful. :jump: That extra money, I'm going to start putting some mods on my car sometime in the beginning of the year. :woot2: For now Im just gonna save up to go on a trip to Europe that I have been waiting for a long time to do.:Party:

The best thing to do is to keep making the exact same payment into a another account preferably one with out ATM access. Call it a rainy day account or new car fund or whatever. I have been doing this for the last 14 months & have got over $4200 in the account allready.

got $6 grand down, got 11 grand more to go. I should be done in 2 years.

I paid off the wife's 2k Maxima last month. I was looking forward to using the extra money to pay off some credit cards, but instead it looks like I'll be using it to pay for gasoline.

Congrats!!! The only thing I struggle with is not being tempted to go out and buy a new car and start the whole process over again. Must...fight...temptation....to buy....G35C....But I am doing exactly what Kevon1 suggests. I reduced my insurance to the minimum and put that difference plus my old car payment into an ING savings account collecting 3.3% interest. I figure that will go toward a nice down payment for a car or property.

I finished paying mine off in July...it was a 3 year finance.

Its a great feeling to pay things off a feeling I dont yet have but I only owe about $600 or so so it wont be long.

Guess what, I just save a bunch of money on my car insurance!!!...........4 more years of car payments though. :banghead:

Congrats. Wifey and I paid my 01' off this past Dec. The extra $300 or so per month has worked wonders on paying off our last credit card and made going back to school much easier. Be smart with the extra money. It can add up very quickly.

I'm going to payoff my car next week or this weekend, can't afford full coverage so have to end up paying it off instead of financing. 4g down and 8 left to pay.

mines been paid off for over a year now. no car payments=priceless.....

I to have made my last payment but I can't mod becasue I have a baby on the way. Who knows maybe taxes I will mod the car.

Although I might take out a little extra when I buy a house soon and pay it off that way. 9000 divided up in too 360 months is like $25 bucks or something like that.

Maybe its just me, but I think I don't think I would be able to do any sort of serious modding at all unless my car was payed off or at least close. The only thing I'm thinking about now is springs/struts but want to wait 6months or so and try to knock out another $5k off my car first.

I feel ya on the G35 coupe, very tempting. I have about 1-2 payments left on my 00 maxima
depending on my finacial situation this coming month. And with that extra money I plan to tackle other debts as well as save money. I was just curious what ING is? Is that a credit union or Bank? Sounds familiar... anyways sorry for my ignorance.
