I got H&R's right now...whats the ride comparision of the Teins Htech and Stech?

I got H&Rs n Tokicos...I was wondering what the ride comparision is between the H&Rs, Teins h-tech, and the s-tech. I am opting for a better drop on my ride but I don't want a very harsh and bumpy ride. Input would be appreciated.

I have h techs and Illuminas and I can say the ride is just a little harsh at times but very comfortable for everyday driving. I last had Eibachs so anything is an improvement from them. Never had s-techs though.

From what I have heard, H&R are the best riding springs. Tein dont perform as well, and the ride will be terrible with the S-Tech's.

Stick with your H&R's :)

h techs are stiff but bearable...never ridden on anything else though.

to add, i have h&r's as well, and they sag in the rear. an even match has been h&r rears with h tech up front. this provided an even height.

If you want the H&R feel without the appearance of uneven sag, go for Maxspeed.

S-Techs are horrible springs. Only recommended for areas where roads are super smooth.

Eibachs: same as S-Techs.

H-Techs are nice springs. Not too stiff since they don't lower as much. And they look good too -- very clean and sporty drop.

Maxspeed: Perhaps I have a bit of a bias, but I've ridden in every spring combo, and I've yet to feel like any of them were better than my Maxspeeds. The only other spring set I'd consider are the H-Techs. Otherwise, Maxspeeds are ideal for a super clean, sporty looking drop that doesn't leave you breaking your neck over every bump.

Can anyone with a 00-01 post a pic of your max with Maxspeeds??? I would love to see the drop.

Mine actually sits lower. Over a year on them and they've settled quite nicely.

They look good and the ride is good. My ksports are GREAT in handling, but as an every day driver, the ride starting to get to me.

I think I just jacked this thread, V-sorry. Back to the H&R's

That is actually my car. I will be replacing the Maxspeeds with Tein H-Techs this weekend. Maxspeeds with stock struts were never that impressive to me. I will be installing Illuminas with the Teins. The Maxspeeds are also looking quite ragged looking. The yellow paint is cracked and flaking off which is causing the exposed metal to rust.

i had s techs, drop was sweet, im on JICs now

just get the H-tech all around...it drops 1.6" up front and only 1.0" in the rear...that 1.0" drop in the rear looks better than stock but barely noticable. The lower front stance looks very aggresive. I just dont see why anyone would prefer dropping just the fronts...my $.02

So the verdict is H-tech the best with ride and drop? I mean I love the ride of my H&r's...(biggest thing is that I got these off ebay and I think my back springs are H&R because they were painted and were yellow under...so I have no clue what they were and now i am starting to feel everything in the rode)...sucks being ripped off.....i got the blues...anyone know a good combo with a not so harsh ride for these shocks?

mistertwo Oct 23, 2005 02:12 PM
