HID's light bulb?

Hi guys,I got 2 questions .

1.Our stock OEM HId light bulb is it D2S or D2R?

2.Is it philps or Xeon?

Thanks.

Ammi Nov 2, 2005 05:44 AM

1. D2R

2. Xenon is not a brand. It just mean that bulb is filled w/ mixutre of mostly Xenon gas along w/ other inert gases.

OOmaxSE Nov 2, 2005 11:04 AM

it's phillips as opposed to OSRAM(?), not xenon.

silvermax2k2 Nov 2, 2005 11:08 AM

Ammi is correct.

thinking of getting some new bulbs? what are you looking at?

NisMoN00B Nov 2, 2005 11:17 AM

I believe the stock HID D2Rs are Philips. XEON is intel's server-grade processors.

BewstAdd1ct Nov 2, 2005 06:32 PM

isnt osram = phillips?

Yeah, actually these two companies are the only major manufacturers that make HID bulbs--D2R and D2S. Philips sells more than Osram, but basically they are the same.

Just make sure you buy and install the pair at the same time to avoid color shifting.

soundmike Nov 3, 2005 05:46 AM

The color shift also tends to bring it up to near 5k levels after some time.

75% sure nissan uses osram.... i would go philips though. Philips does make a 6000k bulb BTW.

i was mistaken; osram = sylvania.

You got it. Philips also sells 4100k bulbs. I've got the Ultinons and they're great.

BewstAdd1ct Nov 3, 2005 06:12 PM
