Anyone removed AC off 5.5 gen?

why would you there is no performance gain. See a/c compressors have a clutch on the pulley that only engages when the a/c is activated. If you arent using it then the pulley is spinning freely. the only thing u gain is weight loss by removing it. whats the point we drive luxury sport sedans its no longer luxury without a/c. you will regret it if you plan on doing it but thats just my opinion.

i bypass mine during the cooler months and notice positive results but i also use a 4 rib belt. sr20den also removes his completely during the same time. the weight reduction is 20-25lbs which is not that great but the more you remove the better. i noticed better low end response just from bypassing it. the issue with removing it is that you have to evacuate it which means refilling it when the temps creep up.
