MacAlert Nov 19, 2005 07:13 AM

Cant_Get_Ryte Nov 19, 2005 07:27 AM

225 35s? Looks like mine after meeting up with a va pothole (But i BROKE the rim) Id say go to 18s thats what im looking to do now.

KCMC582 Nov 19, 2005 07:51 AM

damn that does suck. i refuse to drive my car into the city with my 19s, just for that reason. i am dodging things enough here on the highways and even surface streets, i cant do that in NYC and pay attention to the trafic at the same time. i never knew how the guys in the city did it, rolling on big rims like that, i guess this answers it, unless they are forged, its not gonna last. sorry man, even tho it wont look as good, it may be time for 18s.

MacAlert Nov 19, 2005 09:02 AM

I won't drive in the city even with stock wheels. The last time I did it, I was literally doing less then 5mph down the Streets. The avenues are usually fine.

OOmaxSE Nov 19, 2005 09:19 AM

damn that hurts to look at but it happens to the best of us. i drove my sisters 528i with 19" E46 M3 CHROMES and hit a huge pot hole. basically tore the lip of the rim.

you can try hammering a wooden block at it.

rkyat Nov 19, 2005 10:10 AM

yea i wanna get it fixed before the meet tomorrow but ihave work today so doubt thats gonna happen. and yes it was on the cross bronx center lane going south.

2kayznmaxima Nov 19, 2005 01:43 PM

damn man, poor rims...
yea i was driving with them on nj roads and that was already bad ny is like times 408237407
good luck with getting them fixed!

Deckdout2 Nov 19, 2005 03:33 PM

I've been here before....twice, looking into getting some new wheels, probably going down to 18's. I think that if rims regardless of size, doesn't have a lip then it's a little tougher to bend. But that lip just gets killed everywhere.

irish44j Nov 19, 2005 04:23 PM

that's the payoff with ultra=low profile tires, sad to say...

that, and IIRC Konig rims are really not all that strong

ZIPPIN Nov 19, 2005 06:07 PM

IMO, 19's look best on the 5th generation. I opted for 18's as well, due to crappy roads in Indy............I feel your pain

i guess these babies is missing their NJ Home eh?

MaximaPolak Nov 19, 2005 11:39 PM

I think it's time for some 18s or a move. :squintdan

Maxn2theMax Nov 20, 2005 12:24 AM

Same thing happenned to my Konig Theorys. Tried getting them fixed, now they just sit in my garage collecting dust.....

SEmy2K2go Nov 20, 2005 01:18 AM

That sucks man, but the amount of brake dust build-up kinda has me concerned as well.

rkyat Nov 20, 2005 05:37 AM

yea my brakes have been squeaking alot when its been raining, but i just changed the pads like 2 months ago.

MAXXXD Nov 20, 2005 06:01 PM

19's definately look better on the 5th gen's but thats why I went with
18" Hiros instead.

Chanimal117 Nov 26, 2005 12:02 PM

Yikes! Yeah man NYC is pretty bad sometimes i feel like i'm driving on a slalom avoiding holes and bumps, but as bad as it is try going to Detroit. I spent the summer working out there and the roads are the worst! Good luck getting that fixed

shurik Nov 26, 2005 07:41 PM

Ohhhhhhhhh man, sad to see something like that. :( That's one reason why I didn't go with 19"s. I hit so many potholes already with my 18", and they're fine. If they would've been 19"s they would be gone a long time ago. Defenately go with 18"s next time.

just a question--y 18's there is nothing wrong with 19 in wheelz--I dont see how an 18 in wheel is not going to do the same thing if you hit a pot hole I have 18s but a friend of mine does too he hit a pot hole and fu#%$ up his rim

Bondy009 Nov 27, 2005 06:03 PM

Maybe get some decent wheels this time. Kongis SUCK A$$. In fact, al american rims suck. Get some forged or semi forged wheels and youll be good to go. Even with 18's, if you get cast wheels they will eventually bend becuase of softness. Peace

Iron Scimitar Nov 27, 2005 06:20 PM

sweet dude.

2 Da Max Nov 27, 2005 06:32 PM

dam you need to take those rims down to liberty, its like 40 to fix it i believe
