Now all I need to do is sand my lights, they are kinda pitted and scratched. When the sun goes down Ill take pics of the cut off. Boy I tell ya, these are going to be head turners.

Progress Dec 7, 2005 10:50 AM

What's the Kelvin rating again?

Or lack thereof.

alpinestars™ Dec 7, 2005 10:52 AM

30,000. No thats not a typo. If you want some I can get you a really nice reliable kit for you, for around 315.00 shipped. They are McCulloch

Edit: I can also get D2S D2R ones too...

LA02MAX Dec 7, 2005 10:58 AM

definitely not my style, but props for installing them...i like all my lights to match:

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...0_151_full.jpg

not to mention the fact that i like my headlights to actually produce lights....although you live in peoria, and they have street lights everywhere except for out by the lake...

NYPD-Arnold Dec 7, 2005 11:03 AM

30k? Wtf...how is that possible. Those are 7K-8K at most. 15k is already black light. Uhhh... :wtf:

NmexMAX Dec 7, 2005 11:03 AM

:wtf: ... 30k ...

Got any "in car shots of the road"

TXT-1 Dec 7, 2005 11:03 AM

30,000K? Holy crap! I didn't know they went that high.

NmexMAX Dec 7, 2005 11:04 AM

Light output is probably next to non-existent ...... :ughbow:

Metal Maxima Dec 7, 2005 11:08 AM

Nightime shots are your only salvation here, dude...

maybe hes talking bout hours...30000 hours sounds likely...LMAO...to bad ive never heard of it...lol....now thats an a%*hole i slam on brakes for...

alpinestars™ Dec 7, 2005 11:13 AM

Dont worry, Ill have night shots....

To the skeptics on the light output, My friend has the EXACT same lights on his 97 M3 and the light output is phenomenal. The viewing distance is 100x better than Halogen. Check back for night shots.

Heres a pal of mine who sells HID kits...Look for the 30 K ones

http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQf...Q5fPcNQ5fQ5fSI

BTW he sells 3000K Super Yellow HID's too...

I seriously doubt a 30k bulb will yield PHENOMENAL output.

http://64.40.159.224/ebay/30000KProjectorWall.gif
30,000k

http://64.40.159.224/ebay/5000KProjectorWall.gif
5,000k
Look how weak the beam pattern is compared to a 5000k

My question, why go so high on the kelvin scale?

I have a 5,000K HID kit, no thanks. Also your night shots are going to prove the lack of cutoff. No offense. Also, you must realize, that higher the Kelvin rating, the more color and essentially the less light output. If 30,000K exists, which I doubt it does, it would have less output than stock halogens.

Oh and...

Thanks, I did not know that.

mzmtg Dec 7, 2005 11:47 AM

There's no way thase are actually 30,000K lights. The bulbs are too small to fit that many Ks inside them.

† ErV † Dec 7, 2005 11:49 AM

30k is the number he pulled out of the same place as the brand he used.. aka :BS: x infinity.

:bill:

maximo-SE Dec 7, 2005 11:53 AM

they look like 8000K whitish blue at most. ive seen something thats brighter than all our HIDs and thats the sun....

We're attacking your source more or less. It is not legitimate.

Metal Maxima Dec 7, 2005 11:59 AM

What sources do you have to go by?

Were to bulbs delveloped through an iso-9001 procedure with NIST certified standards in which said 30,000K bulbs were matched against using approved protocol?

No.

All you have to go on is the manufacurer's claim.

You should check out this really cool mod called the turbonator next

alpinestars™ Dec 7, 2005 11:59 AM

Whatever...This guy is legitimate. Hes, more importantly NEVER got a negative feedback rating. Call BS all you want...

EDIT: And yes the bulbs have an "Developed to conform with ISO9001 standards on them"
