Is it Possible to put 6th G steering Wheel into 5.5 Gen

I was wondering if its possible to switch the 5.5Gen steering wheel for a 6th Gen.
Will the radio controls still work from the steering if possible to switch the steering wheel out.

good god why???

the 6th gen wheels are hideous

SoonerFan 12-26-2005 12:30 PM

and they also have electronic tilt. dont know how all of that would work

NismoGTR 12-26-2005 12:33 PM

OK what about any of nissan's new 3 spoke steering wheel with the audio .......My parents just got an 06 Altima and its not electronic tilt....and i like how it feels and looks.....

I like the 5.5 Gen steering wheel the best, but to each their own.

It would be a really complicated and expensive process doing that man, I don't think it would really be worth it.

i asked this question a year ago and i think either soonerfan or jeepik said the same thing they said before. lol

the work itself makes this project not worth anything at all. noticed the 6th gen steering wheel isnt as sporty as the 5th now.

Thx guys for the input.....I was just wondering if any 1 has done it.

I think 5.5 gen st wheel is one the best looking wheel nissan made before 3 spokees arrived.

if u really wanted to i think you would have to change the steering column along like the 95-96 maximas would have to if you wanted a 97-98 steering wheel this has been done with the 4th gen steering wheel , but i dont know about the 5.5 with the wheel. i would like to change mine to something newer but who knows if ill do it. if u wanna try it be the first just remmeber get the whole steering column and if its doesnt work then put your old steering wheel and column back on.

6th gen steering wheel looks like it should go in a pickup truck. In fact, it looks alot like the one in the Titan, IIRC!

Where did you get those st wheel leather covers?

maximaownsyou 12-27-2005 04:51 AM

Titan Anyone?

First of all yeah the steering wheel on the 6th gen looks like they stole it straight off a Titan, sick. Secondly, the buttons on the 5th gen wheel just seem to flow with the wheel, i love it. Buttons on the 6th gen seem a little cheap. But of course thats just my opinion.:doublethu
