Any ever had your struts replaced under KYB's lifetime warrenty?

My front shocks are now blown. I have KYB/AGX shocks, and I need of replacement. I am curious to see if anyone else here are had their shocks/struts replaced for free under the factory KYB warranty, and how easy/hard it was to get your money reimbursed.

Please share your experiences with me. thanks!

yes, I am aware they will not credit me for the struts now...

what I am speaking about is that I buy new shocks, i need to send the old shocks out to KYB so they can test them. If they say that they are covered, then they will send me a check for how much the new struts cost me.

How were you trying to help me out, and how is this a stupid question? Some manufactures are better then others as far as their warranty’s are concerned, and I want to know if anyone had personal experience dealing with this company/issue. All you say is “I don't think they are going to give your money back." Why? Did you have my same problem? Did you have a bad experience with them? Do you know someone or did you read something bad about H&R? Tell me. Just don’t give me this pathetic post and not back it up.

You are being a prick, and whoring up my thread. If you can't provide me with any *useful* information, please feel free to OT and post some non-sense. Yeah, I am 22... So what? You call me "kid" but yet my age has no relevance to your argument. Get a life... old man.

I would tend to think that their lifetime warranty (if anything) will cover replacement with their own parts (equivalent in the case the same model/etc. are no longer being made).

Did you already call them to find out their warranty claim procedure? They might even have local distributors that they trust to make evaluations/replacement claims on their behalf.

Again, as you already said, some manufacturers are far better about their warranty than others.

Cheers.

Thanks guys. Anyone else have any input? Thanks, it is greatly appreciated.

I was browing the KYB site yesterday and found a link where you could find "Safety Centers" that did inspections, offered lifetime warranties...

http://www.kyb.com/safety/

Just enter your zipcode and see who's local. Let us know what you find.

Cheers.

yea, I checked that out already. no one is in my area. :( I will have to ship them out. :(

kbjy11 Jan 10, 2006 10:09 AM

why don't you call KYB? ...

they might have a ship new ones out first, send old ones back later.

if not, you will most likely have to send your old ones back, and wait for the new ones to come back to you.

Check with the vendor where you purchased the strut. When I bought my strut from South West Auto, they said if the strut (Tokico) goes bad, I can purchase a replacement from them and send the bad one back to them. They will deal with the manufacturer and if the manufacture agrees to cover, then they will recredit my purchase.

I thought KYB didn't make AGX for 5th gen? If you have Cattman modified ones I highly doubt they will be covered.

silvermax2k2 Jan 10, 2006 10:43 AM

I bought these shock/struts used. :( Maybe I will try to find a dealer and say I bought them a long time ago, and lost the receipt. lol
