Got a good deal from Chillboy, who is a local 5th gen Maxima.org member. He bought F1 Cups and sold me his 17's with low mileage. Here are my new 17's. Also see my assistant mechanic. I had to keep my eye on her. She kept trying to fix my car.

I won front clears from courtesy of Courtesy Nissan at the Northeast Maxima meet this past weekend. You can see those in one of the pictures.

Next... tint and possibly Eibach Pro springs.

Is this too much gap? Just kidding... still jacked up.

The real final product.

My assistant mechanic, with requisite dirt adhesion.

Looks good, Paul!

After the tint and springs, what's next?

A 2002 upgrade?!

How much hp does your "assistant" add? ;)

mbcp_tdogg Jun 7, 2001 12:18 AM

Sounds like you had a pretty rewarding weekend. Looks good. Glad you explained the wheel gap...I was scared for a sec.

UMD_MaxSE Jun 7, 2001 04:59 AM

looks good Paul! :D

Paul6speed Jun 7, 2001 07:13 AM

She was giving me heart attacks. :) She kept "tightening" the lugs when I was doing something else. I had to keep my eyes on her at all times. (2.5 years old) Sometimes she takes a screw driver to tighten any screws on my car. Accck! Watch out paint.

Very tempting. At this point I've invested a fair amount of time and money into my car. I think I'll enjoy my car, even though it won't be the latest and fastest.

Yeah, my attempt at humor. :)

I'm glad I hung around the meet for the raffle drawing.

Thanks. Are you going to Maxus in July? Only 20 minutes away from UMD.

Paul :smash: :D

Just out of curiosity, what other items were being raffled?

Paul6speed Jun 7, 2001 07:43 AM

- Courtesy strut tower bars for 4th and 5th gens.
- Clears for 4th and 5th gens
- Cars covers
- Nissan Bras from Courtesy
- Gift certificate from Cattman
- Stillen posters

There's more, but that's the stuff I know about.

That's not bad...especially from Courtesy and Cattman. I guess it was too far-fetched for me to think that Stillen would give away RSBs or y-pipes huh? :bonk:

Thanks! I'm REAL excited to say the least. Of course I'm on the east coast so I didn't go to sleep until 1:30 to 2am...and had to get up at 5am. I'm running on coffee and donuts right now!

I hear that the Sixer officials are handing out Jack Nicholson sunglasses to the fans on Sunday. It should be funny looking at all of the Jack look-a-likes.

seems to me someone is keeping his car..

no 2k2 Nissan of some kind for you? :). Looks like I'll have to do it alone. Call me next Feb 1st I hope. In the mean time looking good for Maxus!

Opimax

I'm fairly certain I will hang onto my Max. If the new Altima or Maxima bowls me over... I'll have to reconsider. I could sell my mods... I'm enjoying my car right now though.

Hey Paul, I have a question about the clear side markers that you won. Are these Nissan clear markers or another manufacturer? Im interested in clear side markers and I looked into the Courtesy Nissan ones, but I dont know if they are a Nissan part.......

Paul6speed Jun 7, 2001 07:39 PM

They appear to be Autodynamic lenses. I think Courtesy is reselling them. Nissan doesn't make them and they are not DOT legal. There's a legal disclaimer on the box that says they are for off-road use or for show use only.

So if NISSAN made 18 inch rims, how often would they get damaged?
About the 17s, anyone ever bend a stock 17?

:gotme: I have hit some pretty nasty potholes...no damage that I can tell so far :)

young1976 Jun 8, 2001 09:26 AM

Hey mbcp_tdogg

Those mud flaps on your max, did you paint them white yourself, had someone paint them or did they come like that. I am assuming you have the regular SE because I don't see AE ground effects.

mbcp_tdogg Jun 8, 2001 10:08 AM

I requested painted for delivery from the dealer.
