I'm not sure about service bulletins.
Just a simple question.
If I take my 2002 Max to the dealer and say "Please Mr/Mrs Dealer, there are a couple of things wrong with may Maxima that are service bulletins, would you kindly fix it?, will they oblige, laugh, look confused or what? BTW I have 66k miles. |

I think he meant they will fix it and charge you. |

a TSB (technical service bulletin) is given to dealership by the car company showing them how to fix a common problem. its not a recall so you have to pay for the fix. |
They will not fix the problem unless the car is showing the problem. i.e. for the tranny solinoid they would not change it as the car does not show any shifting problems.

i had 5 different tsbs repaired at no cost. (o2 sensors P0140, warping brake rotors twice, ac blower motor noise, wind noise, and the two repairs for a slipping auto tranny). it mostly depends on the dealer and your relationship with them. the tsbs if they are going to be covered are typically 3yr/36k miles.

thanks y'all, now I get it.
