Maximumtuning stage 2 VB didn't fix transmission problems
 

I have just put in the Stage 2 VB from Maximumtuning and it did not fix my transmission slippage and shift problems. So far, I have spent $700 trying to fix my transmission, to no avail. I am just going to do a 6-speed conversion. I think the problem is with the torque converter, but with my luck so far, I am not going to take the chance. Just wondering, but how much are performance TC's?

P.S.: If anyone is interested in my brand new rebuilt Stage 2 valve body, just let me know. Thanks.

May I kindly request that you have a mod edit the thread title so as to not make Max Tuning look bad? And have it just say that a Stage 2 VB didn't cure your issue. Because I thought you were trying to say that Max Tuning wouldn't warranty a job or something along the lines.

And I don't even know why you'd think a VB mod would fix transmission issues. If you've got a poorly shifting tranny, then your problems lie in more than just a simple VB modification.

Look in the 5th gen For Sale section. He wants 500.

I have no intention of making Maximumtuning look bad. They do great work. It is unfortunate that the things I've replaced did not cure the problem. It wasn't those two things that were causing the problem. According to the technican where Dave B works, the codes thrown indicated greatly that it was the solenoid pack/VB that was causing the problem. No one is to blame. The transmission is just hard to diagnose.

I'm not sure if you knew that there is a TSB out for the grounding connection on the selinoid... the red wire connected to the VB... being loose or just a bad connection. Basicly the TSB tells the tech to solder the connection to make it more secure. Just thought I'd throw this out for you. Good luck, my tranny acts funny sometimes too but I'm not ready to go there yet.... hope you get it figured out.

Thank you for the information. I did not know that. So I need to solder what part of the wire exactly?

Check the red wire where it grounds to the VB itself for a secure connection. Check where the wire connects to the "O" connector for a good connection. If I hand mine out and all apart I'd go ahead and solder it. Use a sodering iron and heat up the "O" connector, put the solder on the wire and let heat draw it in to where it connects. If you have soldered any plumbing connections you'll know what to do.

Actually, if you go to step 5, figure 5a, your solenoid in the picture above does look like that...

NYPD-Arnold-This is another reason why I thought the recalibrated VB will fix the problem.
