code p0507 idle to high how to fix?
 

I cleaned my TB today and I have to say it needed it bad. There was tons of carbon build up around the throttle blade. I cleaned it all out, and now the car idles at 900-1000 RPM. it is nice and smooth, but just to high, and set off a code. I was planning to reset the idle air control valve, any thoughts on this action, or other suggestions?

So, based off what I"ve read if you try to clean the TB you are F####ed after. Does anyone have any new info on this P0507 code? If the ECM being replaced is the fix, then how about having the ECM reprogrammed, i.e flashed with a new program from a company like Jet chips? Would this help you think?

As mentioned in that very thread! I had my ECM reprogrammed, not replaced.

I can't see how this would effect the ECm, I know that seems to be the deal, but having 4 years experience programmingcar ECMs I just find it crazy. I'm going to do some more reseach on this and see if I can't find a real answer.

OK to start with I didn't open the throttle body manu. I turned the key on and had a friend push the gas pedal. There was and could have been not deage to the TB based off that. I never pushed on the throttle blad only wiped the metal area around it.

Based off my research these things are very very simple by design. I'm going to focus on the TPS first. and move on from there. I will keep everyone posted to help those in the future. Dang computers/sensors

Good luck,I really hope you find an answer as I aslo think it's a joke that cleaing the throttle body screws things up so badly, and the dealers only solution was the reprogram accoding the the procedure sheet that the tech's get when pulling the P0507 code, the first check is for air leaks in the intake, that's why I had to remove my Injen and put the stock stuff back on, next was to check the PCV valve, then it said replace ECM but they opted to reprogramme which worked.

That's the part that is killing me. The nissan tech sheet even says the ECM is the cause, but I guess I'm just one who wants to know why the heck, and how the heck this cleaner can effect the ECM through wires. The next question is can the new MAF cleaner be used, given it's not suppose to effect electric things?

What I did was remove all the piping of the stock intake system up to the throttle body and reassemble and check for air leaks. The dealer can perform the Idle Air Volume learn procedure using Consult II which solved my P0507 code. Either that, or they reprogrammed my ecm and didnt tell me.

My dealer tried to tell me my throttle body is going bad and I had to replace that which costs $900 with labor was $1,300. I just bought a used throttle body from the org to solve the TPS codes I was getting after the dealership funked it up.

so is there a fix to this? cleaned mine manually, and threw a p507 code....ggrrrrrr
