Which is faster 0-60: '01 Maxima 5-spd (stock w/16" wheel) vs Infinity G35 auto?

I think the official test shows G35 is faster, but in real situation is it all up to the drivers?

Today I was coming back from lunch and mending my own business on a beautiful day just after rain. A silver G35 pulled aside me and at every chance rev'ed his car to show me who is the boss, I guess.

I am like, ok, you are faster cuz I have a '01 Maxima GXE 5-speed with 66k miles. At a stop light on an empty main road (speed limit 55), he pulled right next to me and rev'ing. I said to myself, to hell let me see how fast you are.

So when it turned green again, I launched my 5-spd. We were about even at 5.5k rpm in 1st gear. Then, I shifted to 2nd and chirped my front tires and he was like struggling to keep up. Finally, at 60 mph I eased off to 50 and he was half to one car behind me and stayed on my butt (not rev'ing anymore) until I was off to another street.

So why cannot he keep up? Please note I did this in a safe road manner not endangering anyone.
