Does Nissan have an odometer correction tool?

Here's the story...the entire left side of my dashboard doesn't light up a majority of the times now. I've been told it's likely a circuit board issue and that I'd need a new cluster. But of course, the issue with that I was also told that with a new cluster my odometer will read 0-miles traveled, although apparently Nissan has a tool specifically made to correct that? Can anyone confirm this?

Have you asked a dealer? I would think that by law they would require some type of sticker or adjustment to state the original miles.

The story I was told by my dealer when I inquired about my 03 cluster was that when they order the cluster from the warehouse, they have to specify the mileage from the cluster that is it is replacing. It is then input into the cluster at the warehouse (or maybe they have to send it somewhere else) before it is sent to the dealer.

When I ordered up my SE cluster for my GXE- I wanted the silver gauge faces :P I ordered it from DaveB and he asked me for my mileage. I guess some outside company does the mileage entering for Nissan when a new cluster is ordered.

I don't se the purpose of asking for the miles. if you can order the cluster without written proof..then why ask for it....

But if you leave it at 0 miles and want to sell the car... There would be red flags in the carfax report.
