Problem with Power Driver's Seat

I have a 2003 SE. My power driver's seat is making a really strange noise. When I move the seat in a few different directions, the motor sounds fine. When I move it in others, it makes a deeper sound and does not move. Any idea what is wrong?

the motor is going... so get a screw driver and hit it it will work for a few months until you can get the $$$$ for a new motor

It looks like you are falling victim to a known problem for this model of Maxima/I35. Below is a link to a TSB for this issue, which basically shows you how to replace the motor. This is for the I35, but the process for the Max is the same.
