Y2KevSE Jun 20, 2001 01:29 PM

Looks like there's going to be a trade-off

power vs. style

punkdork Jun 20, 2001 01:30 PM

Those are some damned skanky looking cars. PLEASE NISSAN, DON'T DO IT!!!

mbcp_tdogg Jun 20, 2001 01:33 PM

stevepake Jun 20, 2001 01:43 PM

hmm....

The side looks sorta Audi A6-ish
The rear looks sorta Chrysler 300M-ish.

Dunno if I like either....

maxse01 Jun 20, 2001 01:54 PM

It looks like $hit to me. But knowing our luck it's going to have a 6 speed with a 4 liter twin turbo v6 and be rear wheel drive!!! haha

It's A Fake

Hi, Everyone.

I believe those pictures are touched up versions of an upcoming Opel sedan.

Here's a link to check out:

Isn't digital photo editing just fun? :D

maximawanabee Jun 20, 2001 02:29 PM

That's interesting. This guy's webpage has pix of future cars made from bits and pieces of cars that have been already made.

Yes! Glad to hear it. :)

Nissan's design has become more and more futuristic...the new Z, Skyline sedan, and altima are more boxey and edgey

nin1ash@aol.com Jun 20, 2001 10:47 PM

I don't really like the way it looks but it does hint alot towards the way nissan is styling its new cars.

MaximaZero Jun 20, 2001 11:11 PM

actually, i like it... just change them ***-ugly tail lamps and rims.

Decisions

If the 2003 Max is going to look like the pic shown, yours truly will be a 2002 5th Gen SE owner. :D

MAXAL25 Jun 21, 2001 06:25 AM

It looks more like the VW Passat! In my opinion I would not be surprised to see it being Maxima, all they do is change or swope the badge from the "Opel to the Maxima". It has been done in some foreign countries.

I believe Opel is part of the General Motors group in Europe. Nissan is part of Renault of France. Opel and Renault (Nissan) would not share designs because they don't have the same parent company.

Anyway, the picture shown in the first post of this thread is fake. I've mentioned that earlier and it's been repeated.

Sonic Jun 21, 2001 08:47 AM

If it wasn't fake, that would mean that it would have to be a hatchback, theres no trunk, and the C pillar is HUGE!!

Pmp-n8a Jun 21, 2001 09:00 AM

well after seeing the new altima i dont see why the new Maxima wouldnt look a LITTLE similar to that car:p

Ants97SE Jun 21, 2001 11:30 AM

Ugh... if it's gonna look like that, I got dibs on the first 3.5 engine and tranny on Ebay for my 4th gen.

LoveSick Jun 21, 2001 01:25 PM

Well, most of you will ignore me like always. But listen if you want to.

I've seen these pics 8 months ago on newspaper and they were just the concept for the Altima. If you look closely, they look almost identical to the 2002 Altima.

not to me. altima looks much different to me, sleeker, and not as boxy.
